We collected nearly 60 boxes filled to the brim with every imaginable kind of gift for boys and girls of all ages. Sisters of Our Savior have mailed these boxes and thank you. WELL DONE! The elections are over. Continue to pray for our country and its leadership continue to ask God s forgiveness for our corporate sins.
Page 2 of 8 VESTRY NOMINATIONS It s that time of year again, time to be thinking of who you would like to see represent you at Vestry meetings. Watch your bulletins each week in church for a nomination slip to fill out. All the necessary information is on the slip in the bulletin. Or better yet, maybe you would consider submitting your own name. It s an honor and a privilege to be on vestry, and if you like to know what s going on with the church, that s where you need to be. Thanksgiving is just around the corner. As is our custom here at TSRC, we will be having our parish Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday night, 12/21/12, at 6:30 p.m. There is a sign-up sheet in the back of the church. Please sign and let the folks in charge know how many will be with your party and what covered dish you will be bringing to accompany the provided turkey. As always, please, please, please, feel free to bring a guest (or more) to enjoy this wonderful time of year.
Page 3 of 8 ALZHEIMERS and DEMENTIA The Hawthorne Inn has a wonderful support group for those who care for Alzheimers and Dementia patients. It meets every third Wednesday of the month at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is provided. Please call Jenny at 863-324-2212 for reservations and any questions you may have. Additionally, if you need help or a break, they offer Adult day services and respite. Whether it s an appointment for a manicure, doctor s visit, shopping, or just some R&R, let your loved one stay with us in our structed, caring evnironment. They offer meals and snack, recreational activities, and assistance with personal care at different levels of care. Pricing by the hour, day, or more, 24 hours/7days a week. Page 4 of 8 BLESSING OTHERS CHALLENGE Brown Bag Meals Bring in canned or boxed foods to be placed into brown bags that will feed a family in need. Suggested individual food items needed: canned ham, boxed mashed potatoes, instant rice, canned green beans, canned veggies, boxed stuffing, cranberry sauce, canned yams, dessert mix. If you feel inspired to create an entire bag with all the fixin s for a complete meal, please include the following: 4 cans of veggies, 2 boxes of mashed potatoes, 2 cans cranberry sauce, 2 boxes of stuffing, 2 cans of yams, 1 dessert mix, and a large canned ham. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat Mtt.25:35 The Vestry (individually) has signed the Vestry Stewardship Statement, which says: We, as a Vestry, through our pledges of time, talent, and money, are committed to the ideal of sacrificial giving. Each of us either is tithing (10% of our income) or moving systematically toward that goal in a timely discipline. We pledge ourselves to the prayerful management of the resources of the parish, especially in terms of Christian outreach
Page 5 of 8 ministries, and in providing and maintaining an environment conducive to Christian worship and education. Each of the following Vestry members signed this form: Andrew S. Doan, Glenn Hanson, Ryan Plummer, Dave Zellers, Larry Simonds, Tina Hanson, Lou Vialva, Carol Adkins, Pat Robinson, Yvonne Plummer. Pledges to date for the upcoming year are down 6.25% over last year. Actual dollars pledged are down 21.66% over last year s pledge. If you haven t yet sent in your pledge, please consider doing so as soon as possible, as the Vestry and Budget Committee will need this information to plan for 2013. Page 7 of 8 A note from our Librarian, Carol Adkins: I have the library arranged, and there is a light to put on if someone wants to browse. I ll make a sign this week. Got the books alphabetized today and spread them out over more shelves so they don t look crowded. The Library is up and running, folks. There is a good selection of reading material available, and donations of books are greatly appreciated. Pocket Calendars for 2013 Available in Narthex. Suggested price of $3 each. These make great stocking stuffers.
