A Message from Our Pastor Dear People of St. Patrick Parish: Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of Christ the King, it is also the last Sunday of the church year. Next Sunday is the start of the new church year with the First Sunday of Advent. Look at the crucifix hanging over the altar and see the sign at the top of the cross, I.N.R.I. it reads, Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews. Pilate wrote this as the reason why Jesus Christ was being crucified, the crime was always put at the top of the cross so that people would know what the criminal charge was that merited this horrible means of death. We as Christians know that Jesus is our King. He gave His life for all people so their sins could be forgiven. He taught us how to live our lives so that life on earth could be good. He calls all people to come to Him for mercy and salvation. Yes, we have a King that is truly worthy to be our leader and King. He calls all of us to love Him and follow His wonderful way of life. On Thursday, November 26, here in America, we remember the first pilgrims gathered in the new land and coming together to share a meal and to thank God for the freedom to practice their religion and beliefs. It is most fitting that on this day, we gather as Mass and thank God for all the many blessings in our lives. We take time to gather at Mass, have our food blessed and then take our food to wherever and with whomever we will share our Thanksgiving dinner. Mass will be at 9:00am I would also hope and pray that every meal will begin with a brief prayer of thanksgiving to God for our faith, our lives, our families, our fiends and the wonderful promise of life eternal. Thank you to all who brought food to distribute to those in our community who needed a little help this Thanksgiving Day. Thank you to the St. Vincent de Paul Society for all their hard work to help so many people. Fr. Peter and I and all our St. Patrick Parish Staff, wish each of you and your families a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving Day. God Bless, Fr. Larry Young Pastor

Arrival of an Irish Priest - On November 27, 1999, an Irish priest arrived at St Patrick Parish to become its shepherd and to carry on the work of the church in Rodeo and Hercules. 15 years later, that same priest is still here. He smiles a lot more now that our parish has grown, our Catholic school has the only Catholic school infant care and that our school is full and we just completed a successful WCEA/WASC accreditation process.
