Let s do that during this time of worship. Welcome! Large print bulletins are available and children s bulletins are available on the table in the Narthex.

Those who are able are invited to stand. PRELUDE Once to Every Man and Nation Thomas Williams LIFE OF THE CONGREGATION LET US WORSHIP GOD TOGETHER Moment of silence to prepare your hearts for worship SONG OF DEVOTION (remain seated) (hymnal & screen) # 184 Thy Word (vs. 1) CALL TO WORSHIP (Psalm 18:1-3, 13-14, 46) Leader: I love You, Lord, my strength. People: The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Leader: I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies. People: The Lord thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded Leader: He shot His arrows and scattered the enemy, with great bolts of lightning He routed them. People: The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior! INVOCATION Leader: Gracious Lord reveal Yourself to us. Guide us with Your Spirit so that we might live righteously and honor Your Holy Name. Bind the evil one from our lives and frustrate every evil scheme that is meant to divide us. Anoint our worship so that we might honor You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen SONGS OF PRAISE (inserts & screen) In Christ Alone How Deep the Father s Love For Us CALL TO CONFESSION (Job 37:1-5) Leader: At this my heart pounds and leaps from its place. Listen! Listen to the roar of His voice, to the rumbling that comes from His mouth. He unleashes His lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth. After that comes the sound of His roar; He thunders with His majestic voice. When His voice resounds,

He holds nothing back. God s voice thunders in marvelous ways; He does great things beyond our understanding. Tell us what we should say to Him; we cannot draw up our case because of our darkness. Let us confess our darkness to God in silent prayer so that we might receive the grace God offers through Jesus our savior. SILENT PRAYER PRAYER OF CONFESSION Unison: Gracious Lord, You sit in judgment over the nations, Forgive our individual and collective sins. We don t realize the ways our lifestyles enslave and abuse other people. Help us to live according to Your guidance and love so that we might be a witness to Your Holiness. In Jesus name we pray. Amen ASSURANCE OF PARDON (I Thessalonians 5:4-5, 8-11) Leader: But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him. Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. Sisters and brothers in Christ, believe the Good News that you are forgiven! AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostles Creed Unison: I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

GLORIA PATRI Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen. Registration will also be held during the week, so phone a friend and bring them along! Come enjoy the fun while learning how to share the truth of God s love in an anything-goes culture like Paul did. Father, what am I holding on to that's robbing me of present joy and future reward? What am I guarding and keeping for myself that's preventing me from having to depend wholeheartedly on You? Which of my assets can I give to You, so that You will be my center of gravity? "No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money" (Luke 16:13). ---Stewardship Committee Many of you have asked for Valerie King s father s address. It is: Duane Dittmer 2808-90th Ave. Burt, IA 50522
