Some Cautions
Some Cautions In the midst of ministering to the poor & standing for social justice, we must not forget that man s ultimate need is to be reconciled to God. Therefore, the clear proclamation of the gospel must still be central. (Luke 19:10, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Romans 1:16-17, 2 Corinthians 5:16-21)
Some Cautions While we are called to do what we can, we must keep in mind that suffering (including poverty, famine, injustice, war) is an inevitable part of this fallen world and will not end until the return of Christ (Mark 14:7, John 18:36, Matthew 24:4-14)
Some Cautions In our efforts to help, we must be careful not to enable others towards bad or irresponsible behavior (2 Thessalonians 3:10) We have a special responsibility and calling to care for those of the household of faith (Galatians 6:10)
