ST. MARK S PARISH A Special Prayer on Memorial Day As we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy every day, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Please hold our servicemen and women in your strong arms. Cover them with your sheltering grace and your presence as they stand in the gap for our protection. We also remember the families of our troops. We ask for your unique blessings to fill their homes, and we pray your peace, provision, and strength will fill their lives. May the members of our armed forces be supplied with courage to face each day and may they trust in the Lord's mighty power to accomplish each task. Let our military brothers and sisters feel our love and support. In the name of Jesus. Amen. The Most Holy Trinity This weekend, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity which explains God. God is a communion of three persons and God is love. God s love is total, fruitful, sacrificial, sacramental, faithful and forever. God the Father, the Creator has the attribute to create to share His love. Christ, God the Son, is our mediator. He came and repaid the debt of our sin. Christ is the Father s beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. (Mt 17:5) Their love is so intense it produces the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is the love of the Father for the Son and the love of the Son for the Father. God loves us and calls us to relationship with Him through the Spirit. The three persons in one God are equal. We cannot come to this realization that God is a communion of three persons who loves and or even wants a relationship with us on our own. Some would say it s all about the Heart but it s not. It s all about grace, which is God s help to us. We have a relationship with God because we are baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Through the sacraments, and prayer we continue to develop our relationship with God. The takeaway? God is awesome, God is love, we believe in order that we may understand, and there is always more. God bless you and happy Memorial Day! Sincerely Yours, Fr. David Aufiero Feast of the Most Holy Trinity God, the Father, Creator. God the Son, Redeemer. God the Holy Spirit, Sanctifier. When we go out to make disciples of all nations, we have a lot to tell! God is present everywhere. Would you be willing to proclaim the truth of God s love and presence in your life as a priest or religious? If so, email Fr. Matt or Fr.
