From the East What does it mean to seek more light? I recently read a trestle board written by Worshipful Brother William Weigand of Shekinah Lodge about handicapped brethren. Brother Bill was this way from day one. He is almost stone deaf and has trouble pronouncing words.. Never the less he went from the entered apprentice degree all the way through the chairs to become master of his lodge. Brother Weigand took his obligations without a blind fold on, and while the master gave him his obligation at the alter, brother Bill read his lips and recited it back to him word for word. I have even seen him give an obligation to another candidate. Can you imagine the struggle this man had while trying to study the ritual. A lot of us say we don't have time or ( I can't do that). Brethren we need members to learn the ritual, even small parts so we can have more members involved in degree work. The more you have working in the quarries the more comfortable it becomes, and the less strain on other members. Come out and join us on Monday nights when we rehearse. Even if you don't know the words we always need candidates for our rehearsal. Please come join us, I think you will find what you have been missing. IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT Fraternally, Royce E. Robinson Worshipful Master GRAND MASTER OF MASONS OF THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY MW William L.
