Das Energie Bewegungs Projekt, the Summer of Applied Spirituality Das Energie Bewegungs Projekt is an exercise in applied spirituality being carried out by Michael Goddard, Ole Kurp and Rebecca Müller. They study and connect to energetic places in Germany and apply changes where necessary to heal the land using Hawaiian and Taoist techniques. 'To heal the land' means to remove manmade energetic influences that keep people from feeling comfortable on the land. It has been about a year and a half since I arrived in Berlin. I came here after I went on a 9 day meditation in a cave, a lava tube, in Hawaii. I had been receiving strong dreams and seeing signs that I needed to turn within for guidance on my way through life or soul path. My process started with a 3 day meditation in a cave to see how one can do such a thing, logistically. Then a few weeks later, I arranged with a friend of mine to spend 9 days, deep in a cave underneath his property. 300 meters back in, no light, no sound, nothing but darkness and the subconscious. When my 9 day journey through the void was over, my next step was clear; go to Europe, begin in Berlin. I sold everything and gave the rest away. I got on a plane and came to a city where I did not know anyone and did not speak the language without asking why. What is the purpose? I teach classes in energy movement that I learned from many sources while living in Hawaii. The purpose of teaching these classes is to share what I have learned from my Masters, Kumu, Kahu and Kahuna, both Japanese and Hawaiian. The work I do helps people strengthen themselves, both energetically and physically, and can end suffering for souls stuck here after death. I see this sharing as my part of doing something worthwhile in the world.

During the classes we held at Spirit Berlin, we used the Mikkyo clearing technique first on ourselves, then on others. Finally we applied Mikkyo on the land and places. Within ourselves, we use Mikkyo to gain clarity and strength, with others we use it to remove blockages and stuck energy in the body. With the land we use it to find lost souls and end their suffering by showing them to the light which assists them in their spiritual evolution and makes the land easier to be on for the living. Given enough time, land heals its self. Thousands of years of wind, rain, erosion, glacier movement and sun clean places of stuck energy and lost souls naturally. Land and place have a very different sense of time than we humans. Due to our shorter time spans, it is often necessary or desirable to energetically clear buildings and places where atrocities have occurred so we can live there, in the area in peace. Why start in Sachsenhausen? As an end to a three month Bagua & MIkkyo class that I taught in Spirit Berlin, I wanted to hold a practical application of energy movement and spirituality somewhere close by. We chose the site of the concentration camp, Sachsenhausen Memorial in Oranienburg, 50 minutes north of Berlin. When I went to the Memorial to experience the energy and 'scout out' the field trip, I had no idea what waited for me there. I arrived by myself with my notebook, camera and a few pages about the Sachsenhausen Memorial downloaded from the internet. Bus 804 from Oranienburg to the Memorial was packed with tourists at 11:00 on a Tuesday morning. I followed my intuition, and began a conversation with an English speaking tour guide next to me. "So tell me, when you bring groups here, what kind of energy do you feel.. what can you pick up on?" She seemed surprised at the question.. perhaps no one had ever asked her about places having energy or how she reacted to it.

She said; "Yeah, well Hmm... yeah, I focus on the guests, and in making the visit interesting for them. I try not to think about it... what happened here. There is another woman who works for the same company. When she found out she was pregnant, she stopped leading tours here. I can totally understand that." Walking through the memorial on my own, I did a meditation to check in with whatever divine, protective spirit this place has. This is a spiritual etiquette that I learned in Hawaii. Very quickly I felt contact with an energy who called himself; "Joseph." Joseph had been an inmate of the prison and had great compassion and cared for others until his own death here. We talked about my group's intention; to return and provide a pathway for lost souls to go to the light and continue their evolution. I asked him to guide me to the best place for this type of work He began to lead my way through the Memorial. Even with Joseph as my guide and companion I could feel the heavy energy as I walked through the center of the memorial. Part of this work is

having boundaries, not taking on the energy of people or places you work with. It is ok to allow impressions, messages to come into your conscious awareness, but not take on energies that are not your own. It was a surprise to me to feel the energy of the main camp weight on me like a pain in the heart center... Joseph lead me to the back of the memorial, to "Special Camp 7." Outside of the main Sachsenhausen Memorial, is a mass grave holding 7,000 Germans who died in the camp when the Russians took over Sachsenhausen after World War Two. You pass out of the Memorial through a one-way gate. Thirty meters down the path is a short gate leading to the smaller monument, a stone marker, large cross and some benches. Once there, I sat on the bench, took some pictures and began to scan the energy of the place. Joseph goes on; " You are in the right spot, at the right time, doing the right thing " I asked, "What is the right thing to do here?" Joseph replied, "Set the souls free. Most have left. We can't get the remaining ones to come (to the light.) You can help. Many still linger here needlessly. You are protected and guided by the most high. " I meditate and get impressions from the grave to "feel" what they have to say. Impressions of cold, going into darkness, into the earth. I see people, prisoners walking into an open hole in the earth, as if they were sleepwalking. Completely tired, no fight left. As if dying would be a relief. Joseph tells me; "the main group is in front of you, do it as you do it "

I tell Joseph that I will be back Saturday with helpers, to call the souls to the small monument of Special Camp No. 7 and lead them to the light. I say a prayer for guidance and return home. We had chosen Sachsenhausen Memorial for the application of spiritual practices because it was close to Berlin where I and my students live. I was not ready for my own feelings as I was guided to this site by Joseph to begin. Imagine; you are an ethnic German, you manage to survive six horrible years of war that ends with the bombing of Berlin. Instead of enjoying the freedom from fear and terror that the Nazi government had established over its own citizens and all of Europe, you are arrested and held without trial or charges by the Soviet occupying forces. It is estimated that 60,000 Germans were imprisoned in Sachsenhausen and 12,000 died there from starvation and disease. That hit me pretty hard, trying to imagine surviving a long, terrible war, thinking; "Gott sei Dank, dass es vorbei ist!" (Thank God thats over!) Only to be arrested with no charges, no trial, no escape, no hope Tragedy is not unique to Europe. There is also much blood, sadness and darkness in the history of Hawaii, where I lived for 17 years. Hundreds of years ago, the ruling elite; "Allii," would have prisoners put to death slowly at each of the four corners of the stone monuments known as "Heiaus." The purpose was to energetically anchor their power and rule over the common people with blood of their victims and fear. Friends of mine took on the task of freeing the souls trapped in the heiaus in Waipio valley and helped change, for the better, the energy and feeling of the entire place. Their work enabled the trapped souls go to the light to continue their evolution and helped those living in the valley feel more at ease in their own home. They serve as my inspiration and model in my work here.

It was a dark and overcast spring day when our group came to the site of Special Camp No. 7, which the Soviets had administered after World War Two. We all felt the heaviness as we passed through the center of the Memorial. Once near the site, we did an exercise to raise our personal vibration and strengthen the energetic fields of our bodies. The Mikkyo we did clears, energizes and connects the chakras and meridians of the human body and helps to clear and focus the mind. We went back to the black stone monument which had written on it; "Until there are no more left behind..bis nichts mehr zurückbleibt" The very reason that we were there. We connected in meditation with Joseph, the guardian spirit of the site and then connected with those who were buried there. We all took a moment to write down our impressions and feelings. In the last communication I had with Joseph, he asked that we come back and clear the other areas of land where mass graves are nearby. Using a Hawaiian technique, we sent love, respect and compassion into the grave site. Then came the work of calling the remaining souls to the black stone monument for their journey to the light. Once they had passed on, a silence seemed to descend upon the land Then the sun came out as we sent high vibrational sacred symbols into the grave. This is done to 'fill' the energetic space created by the exit of the souls When I went to check in with Joseph, I smiled. He was no longer there.

It is easy when one visits the concentration camp memorial sites, to be weighted down by the heavy energy and history of brutality by the Nazi government, the SS and Gestapo against the innocent. It is a pity that many of the stories of compassion and caring exhibited by prisoners like Joseph died in the camps with the inmates. It is important to have places like Sachsenhausen Memorial to serve as reminders not to let the few lead the many astray. When humans can treat themselves and others with love and compassion, then there will be no need to energetically clean places.

Michael Goddard teaches Bagua and Mikkyo that he learned over eight years in the Shingon Temple in Honolulu from Masters from Japan and Hawaii. Bagua is a moving meditation martial art that Dong Haichuan learned from Taoist masters in the forests of rural China during the nineteenth century. Characteristic movements of Bagua are the fluid circle walking and generating of spiral energy during movements. Mikkyo is the clearing, energizing and connecting of the chakras and meridians into one strong unit through the application of hand mudras and mantras. The spiral energy generated during Bagua is used in the practice of Mikkyo. Mikkyo is also applied in the energetic healing of people, places and things. The Hawaiian Spiritual Practices he uses were given to Michael during his seventeen years in Hawaii as the adopted son in a Hawaiian family. Two of Michael's students from his Berlin classes are Ole Kurp and Rebecca Müller. Together they travel through Germany investigating, connecting with and when necessary, clearing energies in places and documenting their experiences over the summer of 2015.
