Since the completion of the sanctuary, I can t begin to tell you the number of people who have visited and told my staff and I how beautiful the parish looks. We all have a responsibility as parishioners to leave our church the way we find it, or better than before. As you can see we have started some of the necessary renovations to help us advance toward our 2020 plan. We should be finished with the doors by the end of the month. This week we will begin working on the bathroom in the back of the church. We will upgrade it and make it more family friendly. It will take about a month to be completed. I am very grateful to all of you for your patience during our time of renovation. When everything is done we will have a warmer and welcoming parish community to invite our friends and family to. Thank you for your continued generosity to our 2020 collection which will help us off set the bills to our renovations. Thank you Fr. Dwayne Help us keep our sick list current. Please notify the Rectory Office (718-253-4404) when changes occur. We enjoy hearing the good news of recovery For those who have died: Angel Rodriguez, Edwin Walsh Those in the Armed Services in these difficult times, let us lift up in prayer for our brave men and women who fight for our freedom all over the world. May God bless them and keep them safe. WORLD YOUTH DAY 2019 Dear Parishioners, Let us take a moment to pray for all our young people on there way to Panama for World Youth Day. WORLD YOUTH DAY PRAYER God our Father, be with us on our pilgrim journey of faith. Give us the grace and courage to step forward in faith and hope on the road ahead. Open our eyes to see your face in all those we encounter. Open our ears to hear your voice in those who are often ignored. Open our hearts that we might be faithful disciples of mercy and truth. Transform us. Empower us to give of ourselves to the poor; to welcome the lost; to forgive those who hurt us; to comfort those who suffer and are marginalized. Bless those who travel from the United States of America to Panamá, to join the universal Church for World Youth Day. Bless, too, those who celebrate stateside, united in faith and joy. Like the disciples who journeyed up the mountain to witness the Transfiguration, may this experience be an encounter that strengthens us for our work in the world. Through the intercession of Mary, the Immaculate Conception, patroness of our nation, may we be worthy witnesses of our faith, humble representatives of our country, and inspired missionaries bringing peace, hope, and mercy into our communities. We ask all this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
