September 2018 Greetings, I always think we will slow down a little during the summer, especially at church. But, somehow, we stay busy even though schools are dismissed, and many people take summer trips or outings. Leadership has been meeting with organizations and individuals interested in St. Martin s. We ve hosted a Justice Omaha Choir Community sing. Your clergy attended the Pride Parade and an Immigration Rally. Deacon Mark has taken us through the life of the Apostle Paul with a film we watched at Second Table. We have new pew cushions. Not to mention our clothesline, our annual Root Beer Float day, and the commemoration of Florence Nightingale. Many of us have been planning upcoming events and activities. We look forward to the Celebration of Deacon Mark Kowalski s ministry and a chance to introduce him to the larger community. On Monday, September 24 th, we will host a Voter Registration event. We are planning a benefit concert in November and we will welcome the Omaha Children s Choir when they begin using our site for rehearsals. The vestry will meet in September to plan our stewardship campaign and budget for the 2019. You will receive a pledge card and we ask you to prayerfully consider making a one-year pledge to St. Martin s to continue the good work we have begun together. God s peace and grace to you all. In Christ, Vicar Kim Roberts+ 1
