The 2016 Annual Lord Mayor s Prayer Breakfast was hosted by Lord Mayor Cr Nuatali Nelmes. Date Friday 3 June, 6:45am Breakfast Attendance 360 Breakfast Beneficiary Girl Friday Beneficiary Donation $9000 Organisations Represented 74 + The morning was opened by the Ushindi Gospel Choir singing Hallelujah
And guests were welcomed by John Church who has been master of ceremonies for the breakfast since it s inauguration in 2009. John Church, Councillor David Compton and Newcastle City Council Guest Acknowledgement of Country was brought by Loretta Boney a Gamilaroi woman, from Walgett who has lived in Newcastle for 16 years Grace was brought by Donna Meehan Miromaa For Life presenter on Rhema FM.
Life Church Newcastle Pastor and Kingdomworks Chairman Rick Prosser welcomed the Lord Mayor and shared with guests the purpose and history of the breakfast. The Lord Mayor Cr Nuatali Nelmes welcomed guests and presented the winners of the breakfast beneficiary award, Girl Friday. Post the breakfast at a special ceremony held in the Lord Mayoral Reception the Lord Mayor
presented Girl Friday with the proceeds of the breakfast, a cheque for $9000. The Grainery Church artists performed items including When the Fight Calls and Open the Eyes of my Heart.
The morning s program included visual media that narrated the journey of faith past, present and future. Prayers of Declaration and Blessing were read by Reverend Dan Armstrong, Senior Minister Sue Irwin, St Philip s Christian College Newcastle School Captain Jeremiah Succar and Senior Minister Marty McCrindle.
