We are an ACTIVE, GROWING, WELCOMING, Spirit-filled Roman Catholic community nourished by the Liturgy to serve God and others.
During Jesus lifetime he gathered a small band of followers and trained them himself so that they could be trusted to understand his real message and carry it on to others. Within this group was an inner circle who became The Twelve. After Jesus death, however, these followers who had had hand to hand contact with him during his public ministry felt confused, afraid, bewildered and inadequate. Would they be able to teach as Jesus taught? To cure in his name? Would they be good shepherds as Jesus had been? Would they have the courage to seek out the poor and be a voice for them? We are an extension of that first group whom Jesus trained. We are instructed through the scripture and have our direct contact with Jesus through the Eucharist, as well as with the Christ present in each of our sisters and brothers. Jesus mission extends to every person on the earth to all species of fish caught up in the net in the Sea of Galilee! Are we ready to spread the Good News of the Risen Jesus? Congratulations to our Neophytes David Brown, Jessica DeLeon, Samantha Negrete, Donisela Gallegos, Nathan Estrada, James Estrada, and Ruby Bell Estrada as they celebrate the Feast of Pentecost for the first time within our Catholic family! Second Collections for June
The baptismal font is the womb from which Christians are born. As physical birth happens only once, so does our spiritual birth. The font is one of the most sacred areas of our churches. It deserves the reverence of the faithful, for it is there where we are reborn... Adapted from Font by Paul Turner Family Pool Party Our baptismal font will be taken out for maintenance after Pentecost and will return in approximately 2 weeks.

We have been blessed to have so many of our local churches partner with us and work to improve the lives of children and their families in Boerne. Thank you - we appreciate all your help! We are getting ready to begin our Summer Meal Program, which includes daily summer lunches and weekend Hearts of Love Bags (filled with breakfast, lunch, fresh fruit and healthy snack items) delivered to children while participating in enrichment programs (many on scholarship) as well as launch a new program - SOAR - Summer of Academic Readiness. SOAR is a 5 week program, for the three year old children who attend Head Start of Kendall County during the school year, who are already behind benchmark developmental levels. We can use your help to ensure a great Summer for the children we serve. Areas of HELP NEEDED: 1. Supply Drive for SOAR 2. SOAR Volunteers 3. Summer Lunch Prep We hope to prepare over 6,000 lunches this summer and 3,000 Hearts of Love Bags. We need volunteers to help us each day prepare and deliver meals. I truly want to thank all the churches who came out and participated in our April LOVE Boerne Neighborhoods Community work day. We had approximately 100 volunteers from 8 churches, working on 7 homes in our community. Several of the churches supported this day with volunteers; food, material and financial donations. Although logistically more challenging than some other work days - we made meaningful connections with families while doing much needed home repairs. Many Blessings, Carolyn Bentzinger Boerne Community Coalition Leader 503.927.3820 cmbentzinger@gmail.com
