We are Catholic. Welcome Home. Submitted by the Office of the Bishop Many of us know this person, I used to be Catholic. Join the movement to reaching out to former Catholics and invite them to come home. The link below will take you to the Catholic s Come Home website where you will find a wealth of information and resources to help your brother, sister, parents, neighbor or co-worker on their journey back to their Catholic faith. http://www.catholicscomehome.org/ [It] is imperative that the entire Catholic community in the United States come to realize the grave threats to the Church s public moral witness presented by a radical secularism which finds increasing expression in the political and cultural spheres. Of particular concern are certain attempts being made to limit that most cherished of American freedoms, the freedom of religion. Many of you have pointed out that concerted efforts have been made to deny the right of conscientious objection on the part of Catholic individuals and institutions with regard to cooperation in intrinsically evil practices. Others have spoken to me of a worrying tendency to reduce religious freedom to mere freedom of worship without guarantees of respect for freedom of conscience. ~Pope Benedict XVI, Address to the Bishops of the United States on their Ad Limina Visit, January 19, 2012. Mass on TV Submitted by Sharon Chiarucci, Office of Parish Resources When parishioners and guests gather for a parish fish fry, there will always be people missing the homebound who are unable to participate in parish life. My Sunday Mass on TV is a resource for the homebound and parishes seeking ways to reach out to them. Please invite parishes in your diocese to post information about the Sunday TV Mass at fish fry events, where people will see it and pass it along to love ones who are homebound. Broadcast times for Honolulu are: Broadcast TV: KPXO Ch 66 8:30am Cable TV Time Warner: Ch. 27 8:30am DirecTV Ch 305 4:30am (3:30am DST) Dish Network: Ch 216 4:30am (3:30am DST) Catholic Relief Services Second Collection The Diocese of Honolulu will hold a second collection during all masses the weekend of March 17 and 18 to support the work of Catholic Relief Services (CRS). CRS is the humanitarian arm of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in developing countries. The collection will support the work of CRS in more than 100 countries around the world. This work includes disaster relief, agricultural development, microfinance, mother and child health projects, education projects, disease prevention, and peace-building. Please be generous. 6

*Our calendar is subject to change without notice. Adult Confirmation Preparation for Adult Confirmation begins on April 15 and Confirmation is on May 27, Sunday at the 11:00am Mass. The classes are from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on Sundays at St. Jude. Please pick up the registration packets at the office, weekdays from 9:00am-5:00pm. Adult Confirmation is now separate from RCIA because adults seeking the sacrament are considered catechized and do not require a year of preparation. Therefore the classes are only 6 weeks at St. Jude parish. Please make sure you read the requirements carefully because there will be no exceptions. REQUIREMENTS 18 years old or older Baptized in the Catholic Church and received First Communion A Catholic in good standing - attends Mass regularly, (if married) in a valid Catholic marriage, not cohabitating outside of marriage, etc. Must submit all certificates (Baptism, First Communion, and Marriage) before April 15. Must submit the godparent/sponsor form before April 15. The qualifications for your sponsor is on the form. If you cannot find a sponsor we have people you can ask. Because the classes are only 6 weeks you may not be absent for any reason. If you are absent then you will have to wait for the next class. ST.
