The North Star Newsletter of the North Ontario United Methodist Church The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims his handiwork. ~Psalm 19:1 Autumn is my favorite time of year. The weather is cooler, the air is crisp, and God begins to paint beauty all around for us to see. I love the sights, the smells, and the offerings of fall. Apples and pumpkins, cinnamon and other hearty spices, the colors on the trees and the focus toward upcoming holidays without the added stress these holidays bring. I read a quote the other day, The trees are about to show us how important it is to let go. If the leaves stayed on the trees throughout our rough winter months the added weight would be too much for the trees to bear. As the leaves begin to change and then fall, let us enjoy the beauty but also take a lesson from the trees and let go of bitterness, past wrongs, past hurts, anger, and malice and prepare for God to do a renewal in our lives. Let God paint beauty into your life as you let go of all the added weight that holds you back. Take time to enjoy all God does and continues to do in our lives and in our church. OCTOBER 2018
