Wee Kirk Gazette Tappahannock Presbyterian Church The Most Welcoming Presbyterian Church in Essex County Volume 21 Issue 11 November 2017 Fourth Annual Trunk or Treat A very successful outreach to the community took place in our parking lot on October 31st...our 2017 Trunk or Treat brought over 450 children plus adults. There were 16 decorated car trunks plus the Tappahannock Rescue Squad and Tappahannock Volunteer Fire Department handing out candy to the trick or treaters. Refreshments of hot chocolate or Kool-Aid plus cookies were available inside the fellowship hall for family's to warm up. Members and friends from Tappahannock Presbyterian, Rappahannock Christian, Zion Baptist Chance and Union Hope Baptist provided trunks, candy and refreshments. Thanks to Sheetz for donating cookies and coupons for free hot dogs. Thank you very much to everyone who pitched in and made this a success for the area children. Sherry Jones

Stewardship...November 19th is Commitment Sunday Each fall we prayerfully consider how we can be Stewards to our Church. All things come from God - the world and everything in it. Stewardship is a way to say thank you. Stewardship is our gifts of time, relationship, worship, thanksgiving, prayer, service and material possessions. Stewardship is a way of life that includes giving. This week you will be receiving information in the mail regarding Stewardship including a Covenant and Commitment Form for 2018. Please review the material and bring your Commitment Form to Church on Sunday, November 19th...we will collect the Forms at offering time. Commitment Forms can also be mailed to the Church. The information we gather on these forms helps us to plan for the Ministry and Mission of Tappahannock Presbyterian Church for the coming year. Thank you from your Stewardship Committee Tappahannock Presbyterian Church

Sunday, December 3rd, at 3:00 PM Presents a Messiah Sing-Along Have you always wished you could sing the great choruses in Handel s Messiah? This is your chance! No audition, no prior experience - just sing-a-long. There will be organ and harpsichord accompaniment, four fabulous soloists and YOU! Bring your Messiah score if you have one. (There will some available to use, if you don t.) Come and sing along or just come and listen to this joyful music in preparation for the Christmas season. There will be refreshments following the program. MIssion and Outreach Ministry Group Report ECT: The next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 28. There was a Community Forum on October 28 bout a new initiative YEP Youth Enrichment Program. Representatives from nearby programs for youth presented what is being done in their areas. The 11-28 ECT meeting will have Barbara Jump presenting an update on ECHO. Special Offering: Christmas Joy Offering: This special offering will be received on December 24. We will discuss this offering more at our next meeting. Christmas Mother/Christmas Angels: We will again be participating in this program by sponsoring eight children, who will receive gifts from us. We want to encourage participation by the whole congregation in this outreach to children in our area. We will include our Sunday School children in the placing of the angels on the tree. Banana Bingo/Essex House: Our next session of Banana Bingo will be on November 21 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Since Essex House does not have an activity director right now, it is even more important for the residents to have this opportunity to play Bingo and get the prized bananas for getting a Bingo. *************************************************************************************Prayer List for November, 2017: Please pray for these loved ones of our church.
