January Birthdays JUNO H. ANDERSON CLAIRE BOYD LEO ALEXANDER CHAMBERS ANN MARIE SMITH CHRISTOPHER TEMPY DANIEL TREVINO KEELAN LEE WATSON TCF Mission Statement The Mission of The Compassionate Friends: When a child dies, at any age, the family suffers intense pain and may feel hopeless and isolated. The Compassionate Friends provides highly personal comfort, hope, and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or a daughter, a brother or a sister, or a grandchild, and helps others better assist the grieving family. Cincinnati East Chapter Leadership Transition 2016 Februar y Birthdays JUSTIN BRADLEY DAVID BRAUN II JEFF CHACKSFIELD JOEL SPONTAK March Birthdays MICHAEL RYAN ATKINS PEYTON OLIVIA CARMACK WILLIE HINKLE JENNY KIPLING LAUREN PETTIT Joel and I have been privileged to serve as co-leaders of our Cincinnati East Chapter for the last ten years. It has been an honor to work with the Steering Committee, and to journey with so many Compassionate Friends along the way. It is our hope that we have helped you, as you have helped us. On a personal note, I was told by those before me, that the secret of TCF s success is simple: As seasoned grievers reach out to the newly bereaved, energy that has been directed inward begins to flow outward and both are helped to heal. I found those words to be so true. Giving back has been instrumental in my ability to move forward in my own grief. It s provided a way of navigating through the labyrinth of grief and eventually helping me to accept what life had dealt me, the death of our Justin. While life can still be challenging and I continue to ride that occasional wave of grief, as Joel so often references, I find myself ashore again. Life is now lived with hope, with more love, more gratitude and appreciation for this life. Living the same life, perhaps, differently. With love and compassion, Carol 2

They had a team of Tim Vinson, Marsha Lohbeck, Annette decamp, Joe and Diana Trevino, Carol McGary and Cindy Douglas. It is the sum total of a lot of jobs that produces the meetings you know. IF ENOUGH PEOPLE DO A SMALL JOB, WE CAN KEEP THE CHAPTER GOING. Anyone who is over 18 months out is eligible to do something. We need a librarian, facilitators, hospitality and outreach folks. The newsletter editor also needs to be replaced by someone with computer skills 8-) Please find out which small job you can do to keep us going. IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RUN THIS CHAPTER! 4
