s h a r i n g t h e h o p e o f J e s u s A TIME FOR EVERYTHING The last few days we have experienced a change in the weather! A cold front ushered in cooler days and gave us relief from one of the hottest summers on record! This is a change that most of us look forward to and enjoy. It s not a surprise when the weather begins to change it s more of a question of when! But truth told most change creates questions and uncertainty in our hearts. It s not predictable and often catches us off guard. The Bible addresses the fact that things simply don t stay the same. King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes that there is indeed a time for everything. CHANGING THE WORLD, STARTING WITH OUR COMMUNITY, ONE HEART AT A TIME November page 2 calendar page 3 Children s Ministry page 4 WCA Update page 5 Ministry Updates page 6 Ministry Updates page 7 Ministry Updates back page Upcoming Events Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NLT), For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace. If we were writing this text and applying it to our day and age we would add there s a time to work and a time to retire. Those of us at White Chapel have grown to love and appreciate the church secretary, Judy Howell. Her skill set coupled with her heart have made the ministry here a much better place! But there is a time for everything and for Judy the time has come where she has chosen to retire. That s not an easy change for us as we have grown accustomed to her always being here. But we celebrate the 15 years of service she has given and are excited for her as she enters this new season of life. While it s natural to retire from a life time of work and vocation, as Christians we never retire from the work of the Lord. True to Judy s nature she will not be retiring from ministry but is already making plans and dreaming about what the future looks like. So while her role as secretary is diminished I anticipate that her ministry will expand and deepen. I look forward to seeing how God uses her in her retirement years! Please be sure to congratulate and thank Judy for her years of service. I d also like to take this opportunity to announce that Sandra Braun and Tina Iannone will be sharing the responsibilities as our new church office administrators. They will each be part time and dividing the administrative responsibilities of the church between them. We are excited that the Lord has lead these ladies to serve in this roll and anticipate how He will use their skills and gifts for the ministry! Please note our new church office hours 9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday, closed Wednesday. In His Service, Gary Garmon Transitional Pastor

November 2018 1730 S. Ridgewood Ave. South Daytona, FL 32119 Our Mission is to change the world, starting with our community, one heart at a time. White Chapel is a congregation affiliated with the Church of God whose general offices are in Anderson, Indiana. The Church of God emphasizes the unity of all believers on the New Testament basis of personal experience in the saving power of Jesus Christ. Christ s Birthday Offering On Sunday, December 23rd, we will be receiving our annual Christ Birthday Offering. In place of our Toy Giveaway the church is sponsoring a Giving Tree. Our Giving Tree will be for those children and families in our church and school with a need this Christmas season. If you have questions or would like an application contact the church office tina@whitechapelchurch.com This year we will be dedicating the offering to missions we support throughout the year. The offering will replace other fundraisers we have had in the past, such as the Blessing Board. Our goal is to raise $7,500.00. Please prayerfully consider giving to support our effort to share Christ throughout the world.
