This Sunday we continue with our Imagine worship series. Last week we began thinking about all the things that God has done in our lives. We looked at the creation story from Genesis and the Baptism of Jesus as he began his ministry. God was behind it all. We also celebrated the ministry that God has been doing here at St. Andrew s over the last 57 years. Over the years God has blessed us with abundance and grace. On Sunday we focus in on the work that God is doing in our lives today. We will look at how we are blessed as a church family, how God touches our lives daily and how we may live out God s mission in our current place and time. In the scriptures, we look at the passage about the call of Samuel in the home of Eli. We will also look at the story of Jesus with Phillip and Nathaniel. God called Samuel out of a deep sleep and encouraged him to be a leader for the people of Israel. In the gospel passage from John, Jesus calls Phillip to come and follow him. Then Phillip calls Nathaniel to come and see Jesus. Each day God calls people to do remarkable things. He calls people to take risks of faith and speak out in their faith. God calls us to live with an attitude of love and acceptance for others. God calls us to go boldly forward with new vision to see the world. Over the next few weeks we will continue to imagine what God has in store for us as a congregation. Following each service we will be holding our coffee time in the gym to allow for people to talk with one another and write on the wall what their hopes and dreams are for St. Andrew s. You are encouraged to be a part of the new vision plan for the next few years. Come and See what God can do! Page 10 GRANT S WORLD WILL RETURN NEXT WEEK Humour Corner - Thanks, Val Angels explained by Children It's not easy to become an angel! First, you die. Then you go to Heaven, and then there's still the flight training to go through. And then you got to agree to wear those angel clothes. -Matthew, age 9 Angels work for God and watch over kids when God has to go do something else. -Mitchell, age 7 Everybody's got it all wrong. Angels don't wear halos anymore. I forget why, but scientists are working on it -Olive, age 9 Angels talk all the way while they're flying you up to heaven. The main subject is where you went wrong before you got dead. Daniel, age 9 Angels live in cloud houses made by God and his Son, who's a very good carpenter. -Jared, age 8 My angel is my grandma who died last year. She got a big head start on helping me while she was still down here on earth. -Ashley ~ age 9 Have a nice day!
