COURSE DESCRIPTION The course consists of nine modules. Students will be awarded the full Diploma upon the successful completion of all 56 assignments. Each assignment will require at least two hours of reading and research. Students will be required to do five hours of practical work each week as essential components of the course. 3
This will include practical work in local churches, street witnessing, nursing home visitation, prison ministry and evangelistic outreaches. To educate students to apply the truth of God s Word to their daily life. 2. To equip students to minister effectively in the local church and community. 3. To establish students in the Great Commission for a Bible based ministry. 5
ACADEMIC INFORMATION VBC International is open to all who are called to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. It will be a demanding and exciting course for those preparing for Christian ministry. Overseas students will require have a sufficiently high standard of English to allow them to benefit from the course. VBC International requires all students to be disciplined and to apply themselves diligently to their studies. Grades for each class will reflect growth in spiritual maturity, as well as academic performance. Attendance, faithfulness and punctuality will comprise a significant proportion of the overall grade. CODE OF CONDUCT Casual clothing that is clean, neat, and modest is acceptable for classes and daily campus activities. Certain occasions might call for more formal dress and students would be expected to comply with reasonable directives on these occasions. As students in training for ministry, you might be required to embrace a different attitude to personal presentation than might be your preference! Both on and off campus students should conduct themselves in a way that reflects the teachings of Jesus. The college will endeavour to deal with disciplinary matters in a biblical and redemptive way, but we reserve the right to dismiss any student whose behavior is deemed to be unacceptable. ACCOMMODATION VBC International is not a residential college, and it will be the responsibility of each student to find their own accommodation. However, we may be able to put our students in touch with organizations that can help, so please contact us for further help if required. APPLICATION PROCEDURE 1. Students must be 17 years of age or over. There is no upper age limit. 2. Please complete all questions on the application form. If a question does not apply to you, write N/A in the space provided. 3. Complete the essay questions in your own words. Your statements will be held in confidence. 4. Your pastor or a mature Christian leader should complete the Pastor s Recommendation form. If your pastor is a relative or spouse, please ask another member of the pastoral team or Christian leader to complete the form. 5. A Personal Recommendation form should be completed by an employer, teacher or friend, but not by a relative. 6. Please include two recent photographs (passport size head and shoulders). Digital photographs may be emailed if preferred. 7. Please ensure that you use sufficient postage when mailing your application form. 8.
