#771 We ll Understand It Better By and By Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. --Hebrews 11:1 Trials dark on every hand, And we cannot understand All the ways that God would lead us to that blessed Promised Land; But He ll guide us with His eye, And we ll follow till we die; We will understand it better by and by. Oft our cherished plans have failed, Disappointments have prevailed, And we ve wandered in the darkness, heavy hearted and alone; But we re trusting in the Lord, And, according to His Word, We will understand it better by and by. Temptations, hidden snares Often take us unawares, And our hearts are made to bleed for some tho tless word or deed, And we wonder why the test When we try to do our best, But we ll understand it better by and by. : By and by, when the morning comes, When the saints of God are gathered home; We will tell the story how we ve overcome; We will understand it better by and by. #334 The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for the forgiveness of sins. --Matthew 26:28 The blood that Jesus shed for me Way back on Calvary, It will never lose its power. It soothes my doubt and calms my fears, And it dries all my tears; It will never lose its pow r. : It reaches to the highest mountain; It flows to the lowest valley. It will never lose its pow r. Matthew 14:22-33 (New International Version) Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. It s a ghost, they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: Take courage! It is I. Don t be afraid. Lord, if it s you, Peter replied, tell me to come to you on the water. Come, he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, Lord, save me! #776 Sweet Beulah Land You shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah.- -Isaiah 62:4 I'm kind of homesick for a country To which I've never been before. No sad goodbyes will there be spoken For time won't matter anymore. I m looking now, across the river Where my faith, will end in sight; There s just a few more days to labor, Then I will take my heav nly flight. I see the lights, I hear the singing; A brand new song of joy divine. My soul rejoices just in knowing That soon these pleasures will be mine. : Beulah land, I am longing for you, And some day on thee I'll stand; Where my home shall be eternal - Beulah land, sweet Beulah land. Text & Music: Squire E. Parsons, Jr. Copyright 1979 by Kingsmen Publishing Co. CCLI #563168 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. You of little faith, he said, why did you doubt? And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, Truly you are the Son of God.
