UNIT A CHAPTER 6 THE GREAT HADEETH OF JIBREEL 1.Describe Jibreel as he appeared to the Prophet and the Sahabah Jibreel appeared to the Prophet and the Sahabah in the form of a man dressed in extremely white clothes and with very black hair. No traces of travelling were visible on him, and no one knew him.

2. What are the ethics of learning from a teacher as Jibreel showed in this hadeeth? Here are a few ethics we find in this hadith :- # We should have clear intention, i.e. to learn the knowledge for the sake of Allah alone. # We should be clean and wear clean and tidy clothes # We should sit properly and close to the speaker. # We should ask short and good questions to gain better understanding # We should seek knowledge from the right authority and source # We should maintain good listening skills. 3. A good question is half of knowledge. Explain this proverb This proverb is true, because a question encourages teachers to impart their knowledge. Allah says in Surat-ul-Anbiyaa : So ask the knowledgeable نفسا عس ن أملنوا أ ن عهنل الذ عكإر إ عن مكعنمتعم نل نتعنلمنو ن ٧ people if you don t know. Also, a question that is good reveals the depth of intelligence of the questioner. 4. What made Angel Jibreel s question very effective? Angel Jibreel only asked questions and didn t give any answer. He listened carefully to what the Prophet had to say. In spite of that, the Prophet described his actions as teaching Islam. Therefore the good questions of Jibreel caused the Sahabah to learn good knowledge from Rasoolullah. 5. What are the pillars of Islam? Explain two of these pillars? The Five Pillars of Islam are the foundation of Muslim life, The Qur an presents them as a framework for worship and a

sign of commitment to the faith. They are the shahadah, salah, zakah, sawm and hajj. 1)Hajj :-The Hajj is a pilgrimage to Makkah. It is the fifth pillar of islam, an obligation that must be carried out at least once in one s lifetime by every Muslim who reached puberty and can afford it physically and financially. 2) Sawm:- To observe fast in the month of Ramadan, every year during Ramadan Muslims observe fast from dawn to dusk. They don t drink or eat from Fajr to Maghrib. Fasting teaches Muslims self-discipline and control of their desires. It trains to develop strong will. Also the fasting person develops greater compassion for the plight of those who are hungry. 6. What are the articles of Iman? Explain two of these article. The articles are as follows :- 1.Belief in one God, Supreme and Eternal, Endlessly Merciful. 2. Belief in all Prophets and Messengers of Allah 3. Belief in books reveled to previous Prophets 4. Belief in Angels 5. Belief in Al-Qadr 6. Belief in the day of judgment and the eternal life 1) Al-Qadr:- Al-Qadr is God s commands and Will concerning this world before it was created. The word Qadr comes from the Qur an and the Sunnah. 2) Belief in all the prophets of Allah:- Allah sent a Prophet to every nation of the ancient world. 25 Prophets and messengers are named in the Qur an.

7. Explain Ihsan: Ihsan in Arabic means perfection or excellence. It is a matter of taking one s inner faith and showing it in both deed and action, a sense of social responsibility borne from religious convictions. Ihsan is to worship God as though you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, then indeed He sees you. 8. When is the Day of Judgment? The knowledge of the Hour only lies with Allah. 9. What does the Signs of the Hour mean? The Signs of the Hour means those signs which tell us that the hour is near.there are major and minor signs.
