Ground breaking is anticipated in Spring of 2014. - We had 36 baptisms in the last two years. We look forward to the growth of these young children and the opportunities to share God's love with them. - We are thankful for our Sunday School and the joy of Children's Messages with the kids' responses and eager enthusiasm. - We are thankful for the glory of music as it's used to praise God. By voices young and old, in choirs, individuals, instruments, organ and keyboard, joining the congregation in worship of God. - We are thankful for parents who bring their children to church, modeling and teaching them about God. - We are thankful for the continued growth of our church, with members and visitors who are faithful in worship. Most of all we are thankful to God who gives us this excitement, and we are thankful to you for your faithfulness to God's mission. -Pastor Bruce and Pastor Russ 1

PARISH NURSE NUGGETS... from Holly Zieman, RN Reflections for 2014 The Seven Deadly Joy Busters As believers in God, there are places where we should definitely not, under any circumstances, even think of parking. Do not park by life's defeats. Where has life gotten you down? Don't park there! Move on. Do not park at anger. Storing up hostility will only boomerang on you in the long run. Do not park at escape. There is no good time for quitting. Don't give up - get going! Do not park at discouragement. Optimism actually promotes physical as well as emotional healing. Do not park at worry. Think on what is right and true and lovely (Philippians 4:8). Who knows what possibilities are just around the corner? Do not park at guilt. Move on by receiving Jesus as your Savior, accepting God's forgiveness, and freely forgiving others. Put the past behind you. Begin again. Learn all you can from your mistakes, and with God's help, make a U-turn at each one. Barbara Johnson God's blessing in 2014, Parish Nurse Holly JANUARY 2014 BIBLE STUDY THE WISE AND THE FOOLISH by Rev. S. Block Session 5: Sheep and Goats--Scripture: Matthew 25:31-46 GOD S LOVE IN ACTION By Judy Lake This summer when I needed a ride to the hospital that my husband was taken to three hours away, friends took me to that hospital s Emergency area at 11 o clock at night. That entire first week, another friend took me into her home and transported me to and from the hospital every day. After the first week, my husband was taken to a hospital closer to our summer home. The following 3 months that I traveled 50 miles round trip to be with him every day, more friends saw to it that our one and only car worked. Others were there when 2 the hospital stay was over and he was ready to return to our winter home 600 miles away. They helped us pack and saw to it that we got home safely. They helped us unpack and put things away. We found out later, that they d also stocked our shelves and refrigerator with food! This is making a long story short; I could fill a book about the many kindnesses and prayers we received from people who knew us and from those who didn t. My story is about God s love in action. These good people are examples of God s sheep. That s

what this parable is about. At Judgment time, the sheep--those who had had compassion on the needy without thought of themselves--were put on God s right side and those who had had blinders on concerning the needs of others, were put on his left side. Jesus had no use for those who were not compassionate to the requirements of those in need, but He did for those who lived their love for God. The sheep were sent to heaven and the goats went to the depths of hell. Granted, we aren t saved because of our deeds, but only by the blood of the cross, but it s because we are saved and want to pass on that love of God to others, that the fruit of the Spirit truly works, and God s love is put into action. To all God s sheep, known and unknown heroes that you are, I say thank you. God loves you and so do I! DID YOU KNOW...? As of December 16th, Trinity has raised $178,624.10 in cash and pledges designated towards the new church addition. This is over 35% of our $500,000 goal. Thank you for your continued support! HALLELUJIAH! FAITH IN SERVICE Membership of Trinity Lutheran was divided into 11 groups that each took a month to be responsible for tasks within the church. The idea was that we could encourage more fellowship and participation. That would mean that each of us only had to volunteer for one or two months a year. Please step up and take your turn in service for your Trinity Lutheran community. Each month we will be looking for ushers, lay readers, communion setup, communion servers and coffee servers. The list below is the service group scheduled for February. The service coordinators are Jerome & Patty Zink and Rod & Holly Zieman. If your name is on this list, please check the calendar and see what Sunday(s) in February works best for you and give Jerome, Patty, Rod or Holly a call at 652-2184 (Jerome/Patty) or 652-3073 (Rod/Holly). If any of the coordinators calls you, please prayerfully consider how you can help. If you don't see your name on this list, your month will be coming. Please say yes when called.
