Faith Culture Service Spring Mission April 6-13, 2019

Join us! Since 1997, MissionGuides has had a relationship with many churches and organizations in the deep Caribbean, most notably, the City of God Ministries of Chaguanas, Trinidad. Their friendship, the openness of the culture and the fact that English is the official language makes Trinidad a perfect laboratory to immerse ordinary people into God s extraordinary global work. Our one-week faith and culture experience e in Trinidad will be the high point of a semester- er- long small group with a purpose, the goal of which is to equip GBACH students with missions theology, missions history and missional tools they can build into their own faith journeys wherever they go. This also gives GBACH parents a unique way to award social studies or religious education credits while providing their kids with exciting cross-cultural experiences and memories for a lifetime.

At A Glance... Trinidad 2019... Trinidad 2019 is a one week youth-to-youth faith, culture and service project with the leaders and youth of City of God Ministries in Chaguanas, Trinidad. April 6-13, 2019 The USA team will include 6-8 High-school aged students and 2-4 adult co-leaders. The team will meet in a small group setting three times a month starting in late October to read, discuss, pray and prepare. The project s purpose is to expose young people to the broad missional themes of the Bible, equip them with practical leadership and faith-sharing tools then engage them in an immersive hands-on experience in which they will interact with a youth group in Trinidad and add to their own lifelong faith journey. Estimated Costs... Airfare: Variable, but typically near $1,000 Field Fees: Food, transport and accommodations $45 person per day Roughly $300 for the week Passport: 16 and Under: $80, Adult: $110 Recommended Immunizations: Consult travel nurse; Sometimes covered by insurance Discretionary: Money for incidentals and souvenir shopping, $100-$150. Estimated total cost: $1,500 Details inside...

trinidad 2019: A People Building Adventure Our friends at the City of God Ministries in Chaguanas, Trinidad have asked us to help develop their youth leaders. What better way to encourage young leaders than to show that young people can lead? Therefore our pre-trip preparations will focus on Biblical knowledge and leadership development in such a way as to have our youth ready to teach their Trinidad counterparts what they have learned. We are looking for high school aged men and women and 2-4 adult advisors who will be serious about learning, willing to share what they know and excited about plunging into a unique cross-cultural experience. Want to know God s big picture for the world? Want to see your part in it? ready for a boot camp experience that will prepare you for a trip that lasts a lifetime? Then this project is for YOU!
