The 2018-2019 Directories for the Holston Valley Baptist Association are printed and ready to be picked up. If your church ordered Directories, someone from your church may pick them up during our office hours (Monday Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm). If you did not order one, we have a few extras that may be purchased for $9.50 each. During the Executive Committee Christmas Dinner in December a check for $500 was presented to the Holston Valley Baptist Association from the Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company. HVBA received this check due to receiving the Safe Ministry Reward which awards associations that have a low percentage of insurance claims from their participating churches. Brotherhood Mutual specializes in insurance for churches. Our local representative is Pam Davis from M and M Insurance in Church Hill. If you would like to receive information on insurance for your church you can contact Pam by phone at (423) 357-3646 or by email at Pam@mandm-ins.com. Her office is located at 439 Richmond Street, Church Hill, TN. You can also check out their website at www.mandm-ins.com. Thank you to all of our participating churches listed below who made this reward possible! Hawkins County Pregnancy HELP Center By Kelly Snodgrass December was a very busy month! I always enjoy the different celebrations and activities celebrating the birth of our Savior! The Christmas Promise Class was held at West View Baptist Church. This church family really made us feel welcome, and had a delicious meal. There were 40 people in attendance, including all the people from West View that help serve the meal. The kids were very excited and enjoyed the entertainment from Candy Cane and Queenie, two special representatives of the East Rogersville Baptist Church Clown Ministry. Candy Cane and Queenie, performed a skit, helped everyone learn a song on the handbells, and read a Christmas Story to the kids. A great time was had by all!! During December, I offered a Christmas Store for the Promise Moms that earn points throughout the year. The moms earn points for attending church, doing personal bible study, and well child doctor visits. They can use the points they ve earned at the end of the year to purchase a variety of toys and household items from the Christmas Store. They all really enjoy this opportunity and work hard to accumulate points. It worked really well this year and I am thankful to be able to offer this help to the moms at Christmas. Lastly, I want to thank the Lord and the churches of the HVBA for another great year for the Pregnancy Center. May God get all glory for any good that comes from the Center.
