OUR MISSION More than 30 years ago, Freedom Christian School was established and has become a college preparatory school for students from many different evangelical churches in the Sacramento area. In a positive, welcoming environment, students are challenged and prepared to achieve their goals for the future. Mission Statement: Freedom Christian School is committed to providing a biblically-based, academically excellent education in a nurturing, family environment so its students can effectively accomplish the purpose for which they were created and impact the world for Christ. Student Motto: I am a Freedom Christian School student, and God has created me to succeed spiritually, academically, socially and physically. I am committed to live for Christ, to take responsibility for my studies, to think and speak clearly, and to work productively with others in a healthy manner that glorifies God. Luke 2:52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man. The first day at Freedom was amazing. Everyone was friendly and kind to me. The most eye-opening thing was the teachers knowing my name and how to pronounce it, before I even introduced myself to them. (FCS Junior) Freedom Christian School is a 1-to-1 integrated school. 1-to-1 integration means one computer device for each student. These devices engage the digital generation by nurturing individual (or 1-to-1) learning experiences. This allows instructors to appropriately differentiate education for all their students and to incorporate an increased amount of project-based learning in the classroom. As a result, students not only learn the skills necessary for academic success, but also how to use critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity to accomplish their goals now and in the future.

OUR COMMITMENT We believe that education is the process of developing a person spiritually, intellectually, socially and physically through understanding and applying truth. Through this process, a student is equipped to live a productive, godly life and is trained to pursue truth and its varied applications as they fulfill their purpose in a global society. Now that I am at Freedom, I feel all my teachers are invested not just in my work, but also in the person I will grow to be. (FCS Senior) This philosophy is addressed in the following ways: Spiritual Goals Students will know Jesus Christ as their Savior and their Lord, will demonstrate a desire to serve Him, and will be trained to live according to His teachings. Therefore, students will possess: An acknowledgment and understanding of their own sinfulness and need for salvation through Jesus Christ A basic knowledge and understanding of the foundational truths of Scripture Skills for memorizing and interpreting the Scripture An understanding of their obligation to live a godly life as outlined in the Scripture through consistent Christ-like character in their daily lives A responsibility to use their talents, skills and intellect to glorify God A knowledge of their personal worth to God and of the value He places on them and others Intellectual Goals Students will know and understand their world, its history and how it functions. Thus, they will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Communication (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) Mathematical computation, analysis, and application Scientific method of inquiry Logical reasoning resulting in the ability to solve problems and make rational decisions Critical thinking and interpretation of data Integration of faith and knowledge Discipline for lifelong learning Appreciation of the arts and creative expression Social Goals Students will understand that they function in a local and global community. Therefore, they will display: Christian character in interpersonal relationships Skills for working cooperatively and synergistically with others Personal and professional etiquette Respect for authority structures in society and in the church Knowledge of governmental institutions and functions Knowledge of and appreciation for the contributions of diverse cultures Respect for all people regardless of culture or socioeconomic level Personal responsibility for the welfare of others Skills for being a productive citizen Physical Goals Students will understand that their physical health is important. They will demonstrate this understanding in the following ways: Knowledge of general physical anatomy Awareness of proper hygiene Awareness of habits that result in physical fitness and good health Knowledge of Scriptural instruction regarding the care of the body Understanding and applying safety principles An understanding of who God is: His persons, attributes, and work

OUR BELIEFS We believe that fostering spiritual growth is central to student development and a well-rounded education. Engaging in activities such as Spiritual Emphasis Week, chapels, outreach projects, small group Bible study and prayer allows students to experience a real, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ. Statement of Faith We believe the sixty-six books of the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:20-21) We believe that there is only one God, who is unchanging and is eternally existent in three co-equal and co-eternal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (John 14:15-18) We believe in the full deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood. His death on the cross paid the full penalty for our sins. We believe in Christ s bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal, physical return in power and glory. (Luke 1:35, John 1:1-18, John 14:1-11, Acts 1:1-11, Acts 2:22-39, Hebrews 10:8-10) We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by indwelling the Christian, enabling him to live a Godly life. (Acts 1:4-8, Galatians 5:16-26) We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 17, Ephesians 2:14-22) We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of judgement. (II Corinthians 5:1-11) We believe it is the duty and privilege of every Christian to pursue the mission of making disciples through personal involvement in the fellowship and ministry of their local church and through the testimony of how they live for Christ. (Luke 24:44-49, Hebrews 10:23-25) I have been going to Freedom since sixth grade and I cannot describe in words how this school has changed my life. Before I came to this school, I did not know what real friendships were. I did not know the purpose for my life, and I did not know the real power of the love of God. (FCS Junior) To know Him, not just to know about Him.

OUR STANDARDS At Freedom Christian School, we believe that an outstanding faculty is key to quality education. Our staff members are dedicated professionals credentialed by the Association of Christian Schools, Int. who encourage all students to pursue high academic standards as well as personal spiritual growth goals in an environment of respect and support. As a K4-12th grade college preparatory school, Freedom offers a variety of core course offerings and electives to meet the needs of all students - including Advanced Placement and Honors classes. Freedom Christian School is accredited by these organizations: Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Association of Christian Schools, International (ACSI) EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Student Activities help a student to discover and develop their talents and build long-term relationships. Therefore, we provide a variety of programs for students of all ages. To promote a healthy lifestyle, Freedom requires physical education from kindergarten through high school. In addition, Freedom participates in sports from elementary to high school. Varsity teams are involved in California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) league sports. Student Leadership is a not only an extracurricular activity, but also a training experience. Since FCS is not only equipping students for academic success but also for leadership in a global society, leadership development through Student Council, Leadership classes and small group activities is a vibrant part of student life. As the WASC accreditation team noted, The administration and faculty foster student leadership in such a way that students lead by example and effectively influence others to pursue a vibrant relationship with Christ. In addition to sports, students may choose to join one of the following performance/ ministry teams: Drama Team Sign Language Team Worship Team Other programs and events include: Spiritual Emphasis Week Chapel Yearbook Club Chorale Washington D.C. Trip Retreat All School Skating Party Homecoming Spirit Week Middle School Spring Event High School Banquet and Overnight Party Back to School Program Christmas Program Spring Program Video Production Mission Projects Buddy Program Grandparents Day
