G5 Assessment G5 Assessment As you reflect on the following questions, keep in mind this is an assessment designed to give yourself a pulse on your own spiritual health. Answering to any of the questions does not make you any less of a Christian. A answer will help you discover why at times God might feel distant or silent. In might be a growth area where the Holy Spirit is looking to help you grow. Use your answer as an opportunity to seek God and to call upon the Holy Spirit to help you grow. Answering to all the questions does not necessarily make you spiritually healthy or a mature Christian but will be a reflection or expression of your Christian life. Done in your own strength you will grow weary and fall into legalism. Done because of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in you, it will be a life giving reflection of a vibrant growing relationship with God. It is important that you answer honestly and be prepared to share your results with your Life Group. In areas where you have answered no, consider why it is a no and consider what steps you to take to move them to a yes. Get support from your Life group to hold you accountable to grow in those areas while being on guard for legalism and trying to perform in your own strength. Grace 1. Reflection In the chart below a step is defined as an experience we had or an action we took that either drew closer to Jesus or we found ourselves drifting from Jesus this year. As you reflect over the last year do you feel you have moved closer to Jesus or moved further from Jesus in your thoughts and actions? Why? 3 steps back 1 step back 1 step forward Stayed the same 2 steps back 2 steps forward 3 steps forward If you moved closer to Jesus, what experience or action did you take this year to move closer to Jesus? If you feel you have stepped back from Jesus, what barriers did you encounter that caused you to be further from Jesus? If you stayed the same or took a step back - What priorities need to change to take a step forward this year? If you took at least one-step forward - What will you do to continue to move closer and experience Jesus next year? Complete this sentence. When I find myself in difficult circumstances, I Complete this sentence. I feel closest to Jesus, when. Finally think about -What am I hearing from Jesus? -Who is Jesus calling me to be? -What is Jesus telling me to do?
