A better chance for children and families in their local community
Who is SDW/STM? Our Foundation s name means Third World Solidarity which in German abbreviates to SDW and in French to STM. We ve been supporting work in developing countries since 1971. The projects we back are run by Christian missionary societies, but help people regardless of faith, race or other characteristics. How do we help? We support development projects that give children and families new opportunities in their own countries. Our funds don t go to churches, but to their local initiatives in education, health, farming, commerce and society. How do we work? Our experts carefully select the projects, which we support over several years. Visits help us stay in close contact. We work to the strict standards of Switzerland s ZEWO charity certification, and keep costs low by having just one part-time employee; everybody else volunteers.
Help for S What s the best way to donate? We ll be delighted to discuss the range of donation opportunities, for example on a special occasion. Companies at Christmas Customers often prefer a charitable donation to receiving gifts themselves. Celebration time Birthday, wedding, party, retirement? How about inviting well-wishers to donate to SDW/STM rather than guess what you d like as a present? A special farewell Many bereaved relatives find donations to a good cause more suitable than wreaths.
