New Evangelization Corner Dear Friends, As the second oldest of eight kids, I was often put in charge whenever my parents had to be away. I usually enjoyed the responsibility (my sisters considered it power ), but every so often, I found myself in situations over my head. Like the time my little sister got her earring stuck in her ear. I remember hearing ouch, ouch OUCH! coming from the bathroom, and when I peeked my head in the door, I found my little sister in a puddle of earring solution and blood. After assessing the situation (freaking out), I realized that things weren t as bad as they looked. I could remove my sister s earring from her slightly torn earlobe, but I needed her to sit very still. Because my sister trusted me enough to stay still under my touch, I was able to carefully remove the earring, and after a few days of healing, her little ear was as good as new! Whether we ve simply needed a Band-aid or have undergone major surgery, we've all suffered the experience of having to remain still so our wounds could be examined and healed uninterrupted. In today s Gospel, Jesus instructs His disciples to go away with him to a quiet place and rest. Like us, each of the disciples had their fair share of spiritual wounds in need of healing, so they are pulled from mission for a time so Jesus can to minister to their hearts. Brothers and sisters, Jesus also calls each of us to times of quiet and rest. We may not have time for a long spiritual retreat, but we can at least try to set aside a small amount of time each day to be still in prayer. This week, let s commit to hitting the pause button from our frantic schedules to be still under the Healing Gaze of the Divine Physician. ~Kristin Molitor Eucaristic Adoration Every Monday All Saints-St. Hedwig s 8:00 a.m. 10:00 p.m. Every Saturday St. Stanislaus Kostka 6:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Daily Mass Eucharistic Adoration is also held for one hour following daily Mass on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
