Psalm 76: "Dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?"(rev_6:10, Deu_12:1-2) Part I (verses 1-4) Psa_76:1 To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song of Asaph. In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel. Psa 76:2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion. Psa 76:3 There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah. Psa 76:4 Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey. God's elect are a kind of firstfruits of the earth (Jas_1:18) who are the first to acknowledge His ability to judge all matters of all time and to know that there is one event unto all men (Eph_1:11, Ecc_9:2-3). The language of this Psalm points to the power and excellency of that judgement that is first upon the elect in this age (1Pe_4:17). The first verse of this Psalm describes in type and shadow the source of all our groanings that spring forth (Rev_7:17, Joh_7:38) from understanding the words of eternal life (Joh_6:54, Joh_6:68, Joh_12:25, Joh_5:39, 2Ti_3:7, 1Pe_1:7). Rev 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. Joh 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. Joh 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. Joh 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. Joh_3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Joh 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Php 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; 1Pe 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Those words are presented to us both without words which the word "Neginoth" H5058 describes as being music without words or a groaning (2Co_5:4, Rom_8:23, Rom_8:26) as opposed to the word "Psalm" H4210 which is described as words of God that are put to music. 2Co 5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. Rom 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Both of these experiences are needed (the groaning and the overt crying out) within the Israel of God as God's peace that passes all understanding is given to those who believe and abide in his precious word that is filled with promises exceedingly great and precious (2Pe_1:4). Those words alone are able to make us wise unto salvation (2Ti_3:15). His "Salem" H8004 is in our temple or tabernacle which we are, his dwelling place today is in "Zion", where we find our "Peace" (Isa_32:18), and it is who we are in earnest today (Oba_1:21). 2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Isa 32:18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places; Oba 1:21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD'S. Psa_76:1 To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song of Asaph. In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.

Neginoth, H5058 [- Definition: music, song, taunt song; - Strong's: From H5059; properly instrumental music; by implication a stringed instrument; by extension a poem set to music; specifically an epigram: - stringed instrument musick Neginoth [plural] song.] Psalm H4210 [- Definition: melody, psalm; - Strong's: From H2167; properly instrumental music; by implication a poem set to notes] Asaph. H623 [Definition: Asaph = gatherer; - Strong's: From H622; collector] It takes this witness of both our groanings and our strong tears (symbolically Neginoth and Psalm) being cried out to God througout our life of much tribulation in order to gather or collect (Asaph) within God's storehouse (Mal_3:10, Luk_12:24) Asaph. H623 This gathering is happening in Judah or the Israel of God (Gal_6:16) described in type and shadow in this Psalm. Gal 6:16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. Mal_3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Luk_12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? any comments on this first verse? Psa_76:2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion. It is in peace "Salem" that God dwells (Gen_28:21) and his dwelling place is in His people (Psa_149:4, Rev_21:3, Eze_37:27) who will bring this peace to all the world through the same judgements that came upon our earth which was needful to bring us to a place of peace and understanding (Php_4:7-8, Joh_15:7-10, Joh_8:31-32). Psa 149:4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. Eze 37:27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they

shall be my people. Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Joh 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. Joh 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. Joh 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. any comments on this verse? Psa_76:3 There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah. Notice that is within us (Salem his tabernacle and Zion his dwelling place) that God brakes the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. All of this describes the struggle and wrestling match that we have with the word of God (arrows, shield, sword) so that we can receive his peace "Selah" that passes all understanding after we go through the fiery trials that try our faith (Gen_32:25, Php_4:7, 1Pe_1:7). Gen 32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. Gen 32:25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1Pe 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: any comments on this verse? Psa_76:4 Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

The mountains of prey represent the lofty stubborn spirit that has its season within us as it contends with God (Deu_12:1-2, Jer_17:1-5). Deu 12:1 These are the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth. Deu 12:2 Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: Jer 17:3 O my mountain H2042 in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders. This mountain will be humbled by our Great God who will reveal himself to us through that struggle with the "mountains H2042 of prey H2964 ". Dan_5:25 And this H1836 is the writing H3792 that H1768 was written, H7560 MENE, H4484 MENE, H4484 TEKEL, H8625 UPHARSIN. H6537 The mountains are 'numbered' H4484 and 'weighed' H8625 and 'divided' H6537 by God as a prey H2964 Num_23:24 Behold, the people H5971 shall rise up H6965 [H8799] as a great lion H3833, and lift up H5375 [H8691] himself as a young lion H738 : he shall not lie down H7901 [H8799] until he eat H398 [H8799] of the prey H2964, and drink H8354 [H8799] the blood H1818 of the slain H2491. Rev 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. Rev 17:7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. Rev 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? Next week God willing we will see how God does avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth, both within and without. Any comments on this last verse?
