Book Study Group - Teen Lessons Based on Your Seven Energy Centers By Elizabeth Clare Prophet and Patricia R. Spadaro Your Seven Energy Centers contains powerful insights and tools for wholeness based on the science of the body s subtle energy system. It draws from the wisdom of the world s spiritual traditions to show you how you can nurture your soul through seven stages of personal growth. Lesson One YOU This lesson is taken from the first chapter: Integrating Body, Mind and Spirit, and the second to last chapter: Sealing Your Chakras. It is best to read the chapters before you begin, but if you don t have the book, you can still read the lessons. How to use these lessons These lessons are designed to be used in several ways. You can read them and think about them on your own. You can read them with a group of friends and discuss them. Your mom or dad or any trusted adult can go over them with you. There are questions you may want to think over and discuss and there are activities included in each lessons to make the new ideas more interesting. Chapter 1 overview Who are you? The real you is more than you might think. This whole figure is you in God s eyes.
Chart of Your Divine Self You have a flame of God inside your heart and you have a great God Presence high above you, waiting every moment of every day to give you more spiritual light and energy. Look at the lower figure. That is you, as you know yourself now, wrapped in violet light. But you are also more than that. You also have parts of you that contain God s light. The middle figure is called the Holy Christ Self and the upper figure is called your Mighty I Am Presence. It is surrounded with rings of great light. All of this is who you really are. How does God s light and energy come into us? If you look very carefully, you see a cord of light connecting your Mighty I AM Presence to your lower self. This is called the crystal cord and it brings God s light in through your head down to your heart. The energy is then distributed to the other main energy centers along your spine that we call chakras, as shown in the illustration below.
Energy first comes to your heart. In your heart is where you first decide how to use the energy, whether for good or for ill. It then goes to the others chakras. Each of your energy centers is unique. Each has a different color, a different frequency of vibration and a different quality from God. The choice of how you use the energy in each of your energy centers is yours. Your choices have consequences. Positive choices bring positive energy flowing into you. Destructive or negative choices block the energy flow. Every moment of every day each of us chooses how to use the energy God has given us. In the next chapters of this book study we will examine what kinds of God qualities are associated with each chakra and how we can learn to feel the vibration and experience in each chakra. Discussion Questions: 1. Did you know that you have seven main energy centers in your body? If so, what did you know about this and what new material was interesting?
2. Can you think of examples when light is flowing through your energy centers and times when there may be a block in the flow? 3. How do you think you can benefit by having more spiritual energy flowing through you? Activities 1. You can learn to protect your energy centers from the negative vibrations of the world. Visualizing a tube of light, as you see in the Chart of Your Divine Self provides protection for the chakras and can help you feel centered and at peace. Try giving this affirmation and feel it go to work in your life! Tube of Light Beloved I AM Presence bright, Round me seal your tube of light From Ascended Master flame Called forth now in God s own name. Let it keep my temple free From all discord sent to me. I AM calling forth violet fire To blaze and transmute all desire, Keeping on in Freedom s name Till I AM one with the violet flame. 2.) Meditation upon your Tube of Light. Music is often very helpful when you meditate. Choose a classical piece that makes you feel calm, joyful and free. Some examples are found at the end of this lesson. Please close your eyes. Meditate upon the white light descending from your source, envisioning it as a giant white milk bottle of light, sealing and supporting you. Visualize its thick walls of radiant light shimmering and shining with soft, beautiful colors, nurturing and supporting you. You feel so comfortable and peaceful. Feel and see it surround you like a strong armor of light so that wherever you go you will be protected. Nothing negative can touch you. You are sealed in Light! 3) Activity: Building a pinwheel as a representation of an energy center
Go to http://www.kidsdomain.com/craft/pinwheel.html for directions to make a simple pinwheel. Preferably, select folders or construction paper in colors that correspond to the energy centers: yellow, green, blue, pink, violet, purple or white. When you have made the pinwheels, blow on them. This movement is called spinning and this is exactly what the energy centers do when they are clear and full of energy. When our energy centers are spinning, we feel happy and full of joy and energy. When they get clogged up and slow down, we feel tired and grumpy. We will learn what we can do about that. These energy centers, or chakras, are God s gift of his energy to us. And we are grateful. We can say a special prayer to God, who fills the entire universe, thanking him for giving us a spark of himself. Hear O Universe, I am grateful!
