Stand Devoutly Before Allah (2:238) Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al Haqqani al Qubrusi, sohbat August 2, 2013. Dastur (requesting permission). Welcome. You came with Khayr (goodness). You will find Khayr in Shah Mardan's assembly. Let's acquire Khayr. We were created by The Creator, Yazdan, to acquire Khayr and seek Khayr. Allahu Akbar. We are His weak servants. Go ahead, O Shah Mardan, explain it to us. Your Yaran (beloved friends) admire you. Let's say, Bismillahi r- Rahmani r-rahim. Don't forget it. Madad (asking for support). Ya Shah Mardan. Let's learn, let's teach, let's win and make others win. Beware, O attenders, don't stand up for dunya (this world). "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin" (2:238) "And stand before Allah in obedience". What a magnificent verse. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Allahu Dhul Jalali wal Jamali wal Kamali. "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin". Stand up for your Lord, the Lord of Glory. Stand with respect before His Magnificence. Be Sahib Diwan. Wa qumu Lillahi...right?...Qanitin. It's an order. In your Lord's presence - Qanitin. How? It is an expression. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Qanitin. Stand with obedience in your Lord's Presence. Astaghfirullah. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Stand up in the Presence of the Lord who created you, Who is Subhan, Who is Sultan, Who is Jabbar. Qanitin. Stand with respect. To stand with respect in the presence of Sultans... go ahead O Shah Mardan, what is it? To stand with respect is the servant's highest form of glorification in Sultan's presence. "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin" (2:238) right? It is to stand in the most respectful way in the Presence of Allah Dhul Jalal. That is how one must stand. You cannot sit in the presence of Sultans. Madad, Ya Shah Mardan. You can't sit in the presence of Sultans. What nice Adab (manners). When visiting the Sultan, they don't sit. No one sits in the Presence of the Sultan. Learn this: "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin". Isn't that the holy verse? The highest level of respect is to observe the Sultan standing up. Allahu Akbar. "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin". Stand up for Allah with supreme glorification. Ruku (bowing) is not like that. Sajdah (prostration) is not like that. Qumu, stand up! Lillahi qanitin - for Allah in obedience. Madad Ya Rijal Allah. Madad Ya Sahib Dawran, Shah Mardan. Let's learn this. In the Presence of Sultan you cannot sit or lie down. In Sultan's Presence, "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin", you must stand up. O holy Shah Mardan, this is the Adab being taught to us. Our Prophet, alayhi salatu wa s-salam, never sat in the presence of Allah. And no other prophet ever sat down. Allah Almighty gave all the Children of Adam honour. Qumu; stand up Lillahi qanitin; for Allah in obedience. Allahu Akbar! Let's learn. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. May power reach us. Let's learn. Let's learn Adab (manners). Reclining or sitting is not allowed in Sultan's Presence. In Sultan's Presence, "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin". Allahu Akbar! www.saltanat.org 1

Madad Ya Sahib Dawran, Shah Mardan. No one ever sat in the presence of the Prophet. They stood up. Our Prophet, salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam never lay down with feet stretched out. According to their ranks, they have divine instructions, they receive divine instructions. Our Prophet, alayhi salatu wa s-salam never spread his legs when reclining. Maybe you saw the Glorious Prophet sitting or lying down...no. Prophet, alayhi salatu wa s-salam, never stretched out his feet nor did he stretch out and lie down. "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin". Allahu Akbar. The whole universe trembles. Today is Friday, it is Ramadan Sharif. Ya Rabbi. You are Subhan, You are Sultan. O Mankind, your Lord, the One who dressed you with the honour of being Man, Wa Qumu; stand up for Him. If only it was possible never to lie down and always remain standing. We are weak. Wa qumu: this is the order. Stand up for Allah. "Qanitin". What does "Qanitin" mean? It is to leave everything else, face the Lord of Glory and stand up. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa Lillah'il hamd. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Shame on people that they are not aware why they were created. Since they are not aware, what are these people doing? Yes. They are running to carry manure. Manure. They stand with utmost respect before those who will give them manure. This isn't the honour of humanity. "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin", stand in front of your Lord's Magnificence. "Qanitin", stand straight like the letter Alif. Don't bend. "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin" is beyond sajdah. Fasjudu li Rabbikum; when this order comes, make sajdah (prostrate) to your Lord. However, what should the real position of mankind be? "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin". To stand with hands in front of you with the highest respect. That is it. Don't look for anything else. O people, we say, don't look to anything else, if you don't look to Rabbul 'Izzah, what else is there to look to? An animal carrying manure. Inside and outside is manure. Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar. "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin". Stand in such a way that it should be the greatest form of glorification for the Lord of Glory, not for anyone else. It is a higher level than sajdah and ruku'. Sheikh Mehmed Efendi, pay attention to this. "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin". Stand up for Allah. Stand up for the Sultan. There is a group of angels that is always in Qiyam (standing). They are all standing in Qiyam. Because of the power of Tajalli (manifestation), they are standing. They are trembling and standing. They are standing there full of love and longing. They are standing there full of divine love and longing. They don't get tired. They don't tire. There are angels that are constantly standing since the day they were created. They don't tire of standing. It is a higher level of respect for Rabbul Izzah compared to sajdah and ruku'. Sajdah and ruku' are different and... "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin", is at a higher level than prostrating or bowing. "Qumu Lillahi qanitin". Nothing... La yushghiluhum sha'nin an shay'in. They stand in fear before the Divine manifestation granted to the servants of the Lord of Glory. They are in no condition to look eleswhere, Sheikh Mehmed. "Qumu Lillah". Arise, stand up for Allah! Go www.saltanat.org 2

ahead, O Shah Mardan, how beautiful. Dastur Ya Rijal Allah. Madad Ya Shah Mardan. Let's understand "Qumu Lillahi qanitin". Qumu, stand up, it was said. What is "Qanitin"? Qanitin - Those in awe of the manifestation of the Divine, who never tire, who never sleep in the Presence of Allah. They are awestruck, all the angels. Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar. O Man, understand wherefrom comes your honour. And what must you do in return for that honor? Stand up for Rabbu Dhul Jalal Who granted you Humanity. Stand in Qiyam. "Qumu Lillahi qanitin", Allah Allah. What magnificence! Go ahead O Shah Mardan. May our hearts find relief, may our Nur (light) increase. May our love and longing increase. "Qumu Lillahi qanitin". With such glory will you stand for Allah Dhul Jalal that it cannot be described. What a great glory we have been given. Rabbul 'Izzah, Allah Almighty, what is the Order? "Wa Qumu Lillahi qanitin" (2:238). Qanitin. Those struck in awe are like this. They remain like this. Stand before your Lord like this. Stand like this. Go ahead, O Shah Mardan. Addabani Rabbi fa ahsana ta'dibi. Teach Adab, this is Adab. The most important Adab is: "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin". O scholars, why don't you say this? Explain this? You don't stand in the presence of your kings and princes? You stand up. But how are you in the presence of your Lord? Do you spend an hour in your Lord's Presence standing like this? Forgetting yourself and forgetting your existence? To stand in The Presence with the honourable dress of servanthood bestowed by the Divine Sultanate, and be awestruck. Do you do this? What work do you do? I am a blacksmith. What work do you do? I am a government employee, I am a farmer. What work do you do? I am a jeweler, I am a salesperson. What work do you do? I am in the parliament. Look... Now we have parliaments. "The prime minister is coming", they say. Sit down. How can I sit? The prime minister is coming. How can we sit? Well, what does the PM have that you don't? You are paying high respects to the prime minister. If it was the president, everyone would step aside and the president would enter with grandeur. The respect people show each other is according to their state. In what manner should people stand in front of their Lord? Wa qumu: a neverending order. "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin". O people, you are killing one another because of this carcass dunya. Shame on you. You are starting fights because of this carcass dunya. It is shameful. Allah Almighty didn't create you to kill each other over the carcass of dunya, or make one another suffer, or oppress one another. Wa khalaqtul khalqa li ya'buduni. Right? I created creation in order to serve Me. I dress them for every act of servanthood they perform. Yes. I dress them from My Divine treasures with a new dress of honour. If only these people understood and acknowledged that honourable dress. How beautiful! The most beautiful dress. The most beautiful dress worn by people. Neither the dress of soldiers with its medals, nor the ironed clothes of government officials nor the clothes of those who wear ties, none give benefit to mankind. Why do you put that around your neck? Why do www.saltanat.org 3

you wear that thing around your neck? They call it a "tie". What meaning does it have? Sheikh Effendi... O Shah Mardan, go ahead, explain the meaning to our two-legged ones. Why do they put that thing around their necks? They call it a "tie". What is its meaning? What benefit does it give you? Well, it is required for the modern, high society life. That is why it has become the fashion here. Let's fasten a tie around our necks. It's meaning? We don't know what it means but, you tell us, O Shah Mardan. It is a halter that satan puts around your necks to reduce you to animals. Why do you wear it? Take it off, be simple. "We can't" they say, "according to the new democracy, our shirt cannot be plain. We must wear a tie because it represents those bound up by satan". Take if off and throw it away. What value can praise on the basis of tie-wearing give you? What is your worth? Is there anything you do in praise of your Lord? "We cannot go", they say. At least go for Friday prayer. "We can't", they say. "In the high-society-life we cannot do such things". The fashionable life lets you wear a halter around your neck, but you don't pray, you don't stand in Qiyam. May you become nothing! You mould statues and bow before them. What kind of life is that? Which book - the Bible, Torah, Gospels or Quran, says this? Sculpt stones, make statues, make figures and bow in their presence. What craziness is this? O our Lord, our Subhan, our Sultan. And so, satan has dragged mankind and tied it up in this state. You must make statues. If not, then paint their portraits. If not, you can go to their graves and stand there in respect. This isn't the honor of mankind. Allah is saying - "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin", you must prostrate and stand up for Me to demonstrate your servanthood. You don't go to the mosques but go to visit the graves. But there will come those to teach you, wa ja'alna ba'dukum li ba'din 'aduw. And so I will punish them. I will make some of you enemies for some others and you will punish each other. So don't make an effort, don't fill the streets and shout. No one knows who you are shouting at. So why do you shout? Who are you addressing? There is no one. There is satan. It goes out, saying, 'burn and destroy, turn this world upside down'. Such are satan's rules, for those it has tied up. Leave them. Don't wear ties. "We can't", they say, "We will wear ties". You tied one around your neck, now tie another one lower down like an animal's tail, then it will look much nicer. You are wearing a tie around your neck. Well, even better than that, tie a tail behind you so that your dress is complete. O foolish people. And then you are fighting one another. Why are you fighting? O foolish people, why are you being enemies to one another? "Well" they say, "they are from that party and we are from this party". May the parties crush and finish you. Don't make up names for your parties. It is He Who named you Muslim (22:78). www.saltanat.org 4

The great Prophet Noah.. All prophets informed us that our Lord declared that we be Muslim. How beautiful. "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin". Stand up in Adab of Allah, don't stand up for one another. And that's why it's Haram to stand up for one another. Respect/praise can be given only as Sharia permits. That's it. Understand, O people, but you don't understand and you become animals and crush one another. Whatever you eat is only a small bite anyway. Ta'allamu (learn), ta'allamu. Learn and get used to this, the address from the heavens. Go ahead O Shah Mardan, Mashallah. Mashallah for our religion. Addabani Rabbi fa ahsana ta'dibi. My Lord taught me the best of manners. There are servants and there is the Lord. A Lord for the servants. You must fulfil the duties of servanthood then the Sultan doesn't let you be oppressed. Light doesn't leave your face, your honour doesn't decrease, your health doesn't deteriorate, and people and jinn stand in your presence with respect. O Hazret Insan. One person... Hj Mehmed... A darwish, came to visit a Sheikh. Look, you know this story. Sheikh Mehmed Efendi knows this story. After visiting, he asked permission to leave, but, "I hear there are thieves on this road and wild animals", he said. "I want your protection." The Sheikh took off his prayer cap and put it on the man's head. "O my son, you came here out of respect/praise for us, it is our duty to protect you. There are so many dangerous things on that road, wild animals and wild people. Take my prayer cap, wear it on your head, and set out." He asked for protection. "Wear my cap and go. No one will harm you." Masha'Allah. Look at the mightiness, Sheikh Mehmed Efendi. Masha'Allah. He gave him the prayer cap on his head. And he is a sultan. There are no creatures that can go against him. "There are wild animals on this road", he said, "Protect us, O Sheikh, O holy one, watch over us". He said, "O my son, wear my prayer cap and set off, nothing will touch you or harm you". Masha'Allah. Masha'Allah. Masha'Allah. Aren't there any people like this? Yes, there are. "Wear this prayer cap and go". He said "nothing from man will touch you, nor from jinn, none will harm you. Neither snakes, nor lions, nor tigers, can touch you. Take my prayer cap and go", he said. That visitor said, "this road is dangerous". He said, "I am asking for your protection, I want you to watch over me." He took off his cap and gave it to him. He gave him his cap. "Don't be afraid. Wear it and go", he said. He wore it and set off. A scary, wild animal approached him, "O son of Adam, O son of Adam who recognizes his Lord, sit on my back so I may carry you", it said. All are at the service of the glorious Children of Adam. Allah Almighty didn't create them to adorn the forests. The Humans, jinn and forest animals, all bow down like this. You must also be like that. Masha'Allah. Masha'Allah. "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin" (2:238) Stand in Adab for your Lord. No one can touch you, there will be no illnesses, no problems, no worries or grief. Allahu Akbar. Allahu Akbarul Akbar. Let's learn. He wore the cap and went. "Don't be afraid". One of those creatures approached him, "O son of Adam, what is your order? Where are you going?" "I'm going to this place", he trembled. www.saltanat.org 5

"Sit on my back and I will take you". It was a huge tiger, like a dragon. It said, "Sit on my back and let me take you, you are a servant of Allah. You are a servant of Allah, we are ordered to serve you". The humans, jinn and wild animals in the forest, all have an order to serve the Children of Adam. "Execute your servanthood, you are not among those who serve the ego. Execute your Lord's servanthood". "Ride on my back". Allahu Akbaru l Akbar. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Addabani Rabbi. Adab is the highest level. Learn Adab and all creation will lie at your feet. You say, 'I don't need it. I don't need it'. The disciples said - send down a table for us. Prophet Isa (Jesus) didn't ask for a table. Why? He said, "I don't need it. But you need it, so let a table come down for you, but I don't need it. I am a weak servant of the Lord of Glory, Whose orders are carried out in the heavens. I don't ask. I don't ask that a table be sent down so I may eat. I am not one to worry about eating and drinking. My concern is other than your concern. Take and eat". "Take this cap and go", he said. He gave his cap, he didn't go himself. A dragon approached him. "What is your order, let me take you". For the glory of a prayer cap. The servant of Allah. Let's be servants of Allah, Sheikh Mehmed. Teach about being servants of Allah. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar. Remove that halter which satan has tied around your neck. Wear a belt. Instead of wearing something around your neck, wear a belt around your waste. "It doesn't look nice, what's this belt?" What kind of talk is this? "We don't wear anything on our heads. We wear a belt." What kind of belt? "It is like the belt they tie around the animals carrying manure". They wear that and they wear a tie around their necks. What is a tie? What does it mean? Look to Allah Jalla Jalaluhu. Look to the special servants of Allah. All creatures on Earth glorify them because "Wa qumu Lillahi qanitin", they follow this order. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. How beautiful are your words. They make your Yaran admire you. Let's say: Bismillahi r-rahmani r-rahim. La hawla wala quwwata illa Billah al-aliyyil adhim. Fatiha. These nonsense people, look, and tell them, don't be afraid. You have permission. Even if they tell a lion to stop, it will stop. They have that power. Hj Mehmed, may you have the power to scare dragons, Bi iznillah. Bi izni Rasul. May you be given for the sake of Shah Mardan. Video link: http://saltanat.org/videopage.php?id=8731&name=2013-08-02_tr_qumulillahiqanitin.mp4 www.saltanat.org 6
