But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8 Greetings to the Church under the name of Saint James, grace and peace to you all from God Your Father who loves you. I am sitting in Brentwood Tennessee at the New Room Conference. If you had any doubt, I can reassure you that God is alive and well. I have been washed over by His Spirit in worship, preachings and small group teachings. And many questions I came here with hoping that God would show me something has begun to happen. As we have talked about this year, it is time for us to not just grow spiritually, something we need to do daily, but we need to begin to grow numerically now. This means expanding the Kingdom of God outside our building walls. But I am not sure how to teach you or inspire you to want to do this. Well this week, I was reminded I cannot do any of this. Only the Holy Spirit can do this. And all the instructors have reminded us this week that for anything to happen, we must begin in prayer. This means each of us intentionally ask God to help us see and do what He prompts us to do. In fact the prayer is pretty simple. It goes like this: Lord, open my eyes this week to see opportunities to share my faith with the people you will bring across my path. WEDNESDAY NIGHTS WINTER SCHEDULE First Wednesday of the each month will be a covered dish dinner at 5:45 in the fellowship hall. Worship at 6:30 followed by Doing Life Together groups at 7:00 pm Come on out and center on Jesus. Fellowship Hall Building We would like to spruce up the Fellowship Hall over the next few months to allow us to make use of it and for other groups to use that area for meetings. We would appreciate any monetary contributions to purchase paint, painting supplies, floor stripper and wax for the floors. One final thing I was also reminded of this week is that this may not be natural to us, in fact in most of us it is not. That means we need to be intentional about it until it becomes natural in us. So, we will begin intentionally praying this prayer at the end of every worship beginning in October. We, as God s witnesses, will ask God to open our eyes so that what is not natural may become intentional in our lives. And as we do this we will see that not only do we mature in the faith more deeply, we will also increase the Kingdom numerically. Praying this with you daily, Pastor Shirley,

We Are A Praying People! Please remember the following in your prayers this month.
