MAYOR S ANNOUNCEMENTS: His Worship requested that Resolution 8.5 be removed. Mayor Pankow congratulated Sgt. Jodi Empey and Constable Brent Pellet on their accomplishments at the World Police and Fire Games in Los Angeles. Mayor Pankow proclaimed September 17 th to September 23 rd, 2017 as Royal Canadian Legion Week in the Town of Smiths Falls. DISCLOSURE OF MONETARY INTEREST: pecuniary interest respecting By-laws 7.2 and 7.3. MISCELLANEOUS MOTIONS/BUISNESS: Community Improvement Plan Grant 41 Center Street (Roy Alexander) Seconded by: Brennan 2017-09-206 THAT Council of the Corporation of the Town of Smiths Falls provide a Planning Fees and Building Grant (Program 3) in the amount of $1500.00 to Roy Alexander for the reduction in the zoning amendment fee respecting the property located at 41 Centre Street as part of the Community Improvement Plan Program; AND FURTHER that the funds be released at the building permit stage of the project. Ontario Municipal Commuter Cycling (OMCC) Program 2017-09-207 THAT Council of the Corporation of the Town of Smiths Falls approve the Multi Use Trail (Beckwith to Broadview) project as the Town s priority for funding under the Ontario Municipal Commuter Cycling (OMCC) Program for 2017; AND THAT Council authorize staff to submit an application to the Ministry of Transportation for the Multi Use Trail project estimated at $39,375 including HST in 2017 and again in 2018; AND FURTHERMORE THAT Council review the remaining commuter cycling priorities in further detail in 2018; AND FURTHER THAT the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign any necessary documentation. Columbarium Contract Hillcrest Cemetery Moved by: J Gallipeau 2017-09-208 THAT Request for Quotations 17-CS-03 respecting the construction and installation of a Columbarium at Hillcrest Cemetery be awarded to Costello and Company in the amount of $32,9821.00 plus HST; AND FURTHER THAT the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute the necessary documentation.

Corporation of the Town of Smiths Falls Page 6 of 6 Municipal Levy Apportionment 2017-09-209 THAT the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Smiths Falls has reviewed the information provided by the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit regarding the apportionment of the municipal levy amongst obligated municipalities; AND FURTHER THAT Council hereby informs the Board of Health that the Town of Smiths Falls wishes to remain with the current process of using the Ontario Population Report that is produced by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation to apportion the 2018 and future levies.
