In Chaya Atharva Veda there are 264 major forms of Bhairavas. Among this 264 forms there are 16 forms which are rare and out of which 8 forms are considered rarest of rare. The 8 forms with consorts are : 1. Akaasa Bhairava/Taara 2. Maarthaanda Bhairava/ Raja Mathangi 3. Mrutyunjaya Bhairava/ Kapaalini 4. Vriskha Bhairava/ Bhavani 5. Unmattha Bhairava/ Jwaalini 6. Asithaanga Bhairava/ Hamsini 7. Ujeevana Bhairava/ Ujeevini 8. Vijaya Bhairava/Jaya With Lord s grace let me attempt to highlight certain points about Vriksha Bhairava and Bhavani. They are the fourth of the rarest of the rare form. It is believed that they are age old and keep living below the earth for thousands of years. When the time is ripe they come out of the earth as plants/trees to announce to the world that they have finally arrived to be seen, adored and worshipped Since they live deep below the earth, may be millions and millions of miles, they have absolute control of the seven patala lokas. Atala, Vitala, Sutala, Talatala, Mahatala, Rasatala & Patala. The forefathers of humans are under their control and the pitru lokas will fall under these patalas depending on the collective karmic effect of the individual families and souls. On worship and propitiation of Vriksha Bhairava with his consort Bhavani, will heal the negative impact on human beings due to non performance of Rights and righteous duties for departed souls in the family by the kartas. Surrendering at Guru s feet is the only way to attain salvation. With only the knowledge from reading the book on Patanjali Yoga, a sadhu came to Baba hoping He will help him to attain Samadhi state. But, he was shocked to see Baba eating roti with onions and doubted how Baba can show him the way. But, Baba immediately told his friend Nana, O, Nana! Only those who can digest raw onion alone must eat it; not everyone else!. On hearing this the sadhu felt ashamed and bowed to Baba. One day Shama was bit by a snake. Despite everyone advising him to go to a doctor, Shama came straight to Baba but Baba scolded him harshly, commanding him not to get up on the steps but to get down immediately. Shama was bewildered by this treatment but later Baba assured him that the Fakir will save him and asked him to return home and rest. Thus, all the harsh words were apparently directed at the venom and not at Shama. Once, a severe Cholera epidemic fell upon Shirdi and everyone was ordered not to kill any goats and not to buy any firewood from outside. But, Baba ignored these superstitious orders and brought in a load of firewood and distributed to all the people. Also, during this time someone brought an aged goat and Baba ordered Bade Baba to kill it who refused it politely. Then Baba asked Shama who went to Radhakrishna Mayi to fetch a knife, who took away the knife, when came to know of the reason. Finally, Baba commanded Kaka Saheb Dixit who, in spite of being a Brahmin, immediately prepared to obey Sayi s order. But, Baba prevented him also from killing. Dixit said that his master s command is of utmost sacred than anything else. Finally, the goat died on its own accord. There are 3 types of devotees. 1. Fulfilling Guru s desire without waiting for His command. 2. After knowing his Guru s intention, completing it. 3. Not fulfilling and making more and more mistakes. Believing in Guru s words and waiting patiently, one will get the Guru s grace and attain salvation. ***************************** BOW TO SRI SAI PEACE BE TO ALL!! ***************************** LIFE APPLICATIONS ********************** Surrendering at the Guru is the way to salvation. Just the knowledge from the book is not enough without experience. Trust in Baba will cure even a snake bite. Implicit obedience to one s Guru s words is the best way to attain liberation. 3 * P A N C H A T A N T R A T A L E S * - S a t h y a R a m k u m a r SPARROWS AND AN ELEPHANT ********************************** In a forest, there lived a family of sparrows and they were eagerly expecting their newly laid eggs to hatch. On one scorching summer day, a lone elephant for want of water went berserk and ran hither and tither. It broke many trees on the way and sadly, the branch along with the eggs in the nest, also broke. The sparrows couldn't do anything but cry heart broken looking at the smashed eggs. Their cries were heard by the woodpecker and he wanted to help them take revenge on the elephant. It sought the help of its friend, a fly and another friend, a frog and together they made a plan. Accordingly, the fly went near the elephant's ears and started buzzing and it drove the elephant crazy. It couldn't bear it any more and closed its eyes and then the woodpecker went and pecked his eyes blind. The elephant ran trumpeting in pain and hunger and thirst and heard the frog crocking near the edge of a huge pit. The elephant followed the frog's voice and thought there is water and straight it went into the pit and was heavily injured. MORAL OF THE STORY *************************** Even the meek and humble have a chance against high and mighty, if they stand united. SRIDHARAAMRITHAM *************************** The Master is compared to the full moon. Though emotional, he is fully balanced. Hence his day is celebrated as Guru Poornima. Smarana is remembrance of the Lord at all times. It is thinking about the Lord, and His Lord s glories alone. It is meditating on Him, remembering Him, and seeing Him in everything and everywhere. Naradha s Bhakthi Sutra says worship of the Lord should be constant, like the flow of oil from one pot to another. Japa or repetition of His name is also Smarana. Sri Hanuman is always thinking about Rama. No matter where He is or what He does, His mind is always on Rama. With single minded devotion, like a child who always thinks of his Mother when his Mother is not near, or like a husband who is madly in love with his wife, always thinks of his wife, a devotee must think of the Lord. Smarana is unwavering thought about God. SAIRAM!!!
