John 3:36 This verse sounds threatening until you discover that w rath in the original Greek means, Reaching out with tender passion, care and desire. The original Greek for wrath synonym #3709 ----------------------orgh orge, or-gay' From 3713; properly, desire (as a reaching forth or excitement of the mind), i.e. (by analogy), violent passion (ire, or (justifiable) abhorrence); by implication punishment: --anger, indignation, vengeance, and wrath. In the original Greek, synonym #3713-----------oregomai oregomai, or-eg'-om-ahee Middle voice of apparently a prolonged form of an obsolete primary (compare 3735); to stretch oneself, i.e. reach out after (long for): --covet after, desire. Synonyms #3735 and the following #142 expand to eliminating sin. You can check a Greek concordance and it will help for your rearranged perception of Wrath. Anger has the same meaning as wrath. restore anything wrongfully taken. Vengeance means to vindicate and I believe God w as speaking to His beloved friend in John 3:3 6, Accepting and believing Jesus and w hat his death and resurrection prepared for humanity w ill impart immortality. Not believing w hat Jesus truthfully or accurately accomplished on the cross, even though God is reaching out w ith His desire, w ill nullify the expectancy of God for man and he w ill experience physical death. John 3:36 is a single incidence of how the KJ V reflects the hierarchy s mentality for the Catholic Church attempt to control humanity with Fear. God revealed to His prophet Jeremiah a New Covenant that Jesus would make possible and the Apostle Paul repeated the plan twice in the book of Hebrews.
