Prelude Christ the King Sunday 10:00 am Welcoming, Announcements & Greeting Introit Call to Worship: God of all lands and cultures, on this day we take time to reflect on the influences and the inspirations of our past. We think of the apostles, who found Jesus, followed Him and helped others to see Him. May we be women and men who follow our vision and enable the holy dreams of others. We are grateful for those in the past who have invested their strength and wisdom, their energy and commitment in the welfare of the people of Scotland, America and beyond to all nations. Those who gave of themselves in working for freedom and justice for all; those who cared and sacrificed for the good of everyone; those who enabled our dreams and visions. Not only do we think of our past, but we look to catch a glimpse of where you may be at work in and through our countries today. Hymn #62: (please stand) Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise verses 1, 2, 4 Children s Message: Prayer of Thanksgiving John Knox: Braveheart Servant of God Part 1 Prayer of Confession: Don Van Antwerpen God, we pray for our world today, and for ourselves. We pray for those in power and for those who feel powerless; for those in poverty and for those in the places of plenty; for those whose
ancestors lived here and for those who have recently joined our national family; and for those who work to break down barriers, (continued on next page) create peace, and build a better Scotland, United States, and world. We confess that we have not been ready or willing at times to pray for and to help these people. We have been people of the worldly desires, not focusing on your heavenly Kingdom. May we be inspired and challenged by them to follow our Christian vision in our personal, community and national life. God within us, between us and around us, help us as individuals and as a nation to show gratitude for what has been good in our past, goodwill in the present and hope with determination for the days ahead. Presentation of Gifts, Tithes, and Offerings Anthem Be Thou My Vision Doxology: #809 (please stand) Prayer of Dedication: The Church in Brielle Chancel Choir Lord, we thank for Your faithfulness. With it we worship You and give our whole selves to You. Please now take it and use it for Your kingdom and Your glory. Extend and multiple its reach and influence, we pray. May it be a great blessing to many. We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
