Level A Quran (Teachers: Zainab and Keltoum) We reviewed Surat Al-Fatiha. Memorize Surat Al-Fatiha entirely. Next week we will be starting a new Surah. Arabic (Teachers: Zainab and Keltoum) We reviewed the first four letters. Learn to read and write the first four letters of the Arabic Alphabet. Islamic Studies (Teachers: Nadia and Thasneem) We learned how to say Astaghfirallah when we make a mistake. We read Ilyas the Duck. We also learned where Allah is. Practice saying the word Astaghfirallah.

Level B Quran (Teacher: Mervet) Reviewed Surat Al-Masad. Memorize Surat Al-Masad if you haven t done so already. Arabic (Teachers: Kawtar and Jannat) We revised letters from Alif to Daal. We learned the ltter thaal. We also learned the number 7 in Arabic ( saba a). Evaluate the kids to see if they know the letters we have reviewed well. Islamic Studies (Teacher: Jannat) We reviewed our first Prophet name and last Prophet name. We also discussed belief in the Akhirah. We learned about good actions and bad actions. Practice page 49. Muslims pray five times a day.

Level C1 Quran (Teachers: Kawtar and Thasneem) We recited Surat Al-Fatiha and Al- Kawthar. Memorize both Surahs if you haven t done so already. Arabic (Teacher: Nour) We learned the letter zaa. We learned how to write it step by step. Practice writing the letter zaa in the writing book. Islamic Studies (Teacher: Wajida) We learned about the fifth pillar of Islam Hajj. We talked about it in detail. We go to Mecca for Hajj. We do Tawaf around the Kabah 7 times. We reviewed all 5 pillars of Islam. We started the discussion about Athaan and Wudu before prayer. Review and discuss with your parents the following. Please review the 5 pillars of Islam. Memorize the dua a for knowledge ( Rabbi Zidni Ilma ). Islam -> Faith -> La Illaha Ila Allah Muhammadun Rasool Allah Steps of Salah 1) Athaan 2) Wudu 3) Salah We pray 5 times a day (Fajr, Duhur, Asr, Maghrib, Isha).

Level C2 Quran (Teacher: Dina) Practiced Surat Quraish from Ayahs 1-3 and the meaning of the words (translation). Memorize Surat Quraish ayahs 1-3, Page 10 Juz Amah book. Arabic (Teacher: Dina) We learned the letter Sheen. We learned the Arabic number 12 (Ethna Ashar). Practice letters from Alif to Sheen in the Arabic Writing Book. Practice numbers from Wahed (1) to Ethna Ashar (12) in Arabic Numbers book. Islamic Studies (Teacher: Wajida) We reviewed lessons we ve completed before the winter break. Write prophet s name.

Level D1 Quran (Teacher: Fatima-Zahra) We reviewed the meaning of Surat At- Takaathur. We practiced reciting the first 4 ayat. Start practicing the last ayat of Surat At-Takaathur. Share what you learned in class with your family. Quranic Arabic (Teacher: Fadi) Started lesson 3 of Qaida Noorania. Covered madd and harakat. Level D2 Quran (Teacher: Samira) Reviewed the meaning and recited Ayahs 1-4 from Surat Al-Ma un. Memorize ayahs 1-4 from Surat Al-Ma un. Quranic Arabic (Teacher: Hanane) We practiced the letters alif baa taa in different forms (beginning, middle, and end). Complete page 16-17 on Arabic activity book. Please practice the above letters in different forms at home. Islamic Studies (Teacher: Anna) We talked about the life of the Prophet Mohammad (S). Please complete the exercises on page 26. Fill in the blanks, match the columns and true or false.

Level E Quran (Teacher: Fatima-Zahra) We started practicing the verses 6-12 of Surat Al-Alaq. Practice ayahs 6-12 of Surat Al-Alaq. Quranic Arabic (Teacher: Fatima-Zahra) We practiced the role of Fatha. We practiced some short Arabic words with only fatha. Share what you have learned in class with your family. Review your Arabic letters. Islamic Studies (Teacher: Azra) We continued reading chapter 6 in class. Please listen to the Story of Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Ismail (AS). Complete the exercise from chapter 5.

Level F1 Quran (Teacher: Azzeim) Explained the first 6 ayat of Surat Al- Zalzalah. Memorize ayahs 1-6 of Surat Al-Zalzalah. Quranic Arabic (Teacher: Basmah) Reviewed lesson 4 of Qaida Noorania. Listen to the first page of lesson 4 https://youtu.be/elwpnjo7ikk Write the first 4 rows of lesson 4 and be prepared to read them out loud with correct pronunciation in class next Sunday. Islamic Studies (Teacher: Ayesha) We covered chapter 6-7. Please complete the exercise of chapters 6-7.

Level F2 Quran (Teacher: Samira) We recited the first 4 Ayahs of Surat Al Bayyinah and the meaning of those Ayahs. Memorize ayahs 1-5 of Surat Al-Bayyinah. Quranic Arabic (Teacher: Basmah) Reviewed lesson 4 of Qaida Noorania. Level G Quran (Teacher: Fatma) We learned the explanation and pronunciation of Surat Al-Lail ayahs 10-13. Memorize Surat Al-Lail ayahs 10-13. Quranic Arabic (Teacher: Fatma) We reviewed lesson 4 of Qaida Noorania. We learned the fifth lesson of Qaida Noorania (first 4 rows). Write the first 4 rows of lesson 5 of Qaida Noorania. Listen to the first page of lesson 4 https://youtu.be/elwpnjo7ikk Islamic Studies (Teacher: Nadia) Learned different duas and prayers Prophet Mohammad (S) did. Learned how to be appreciative of Allah in good times and bad. Learned how not to only remember to ask Allah at a time of need but to recognize that when we are content to say Alhamdulillah. Complete the questions in the pink and green boxes of the lesson we did in class.

Level H Quran (Teacher: Amat) They had a test in Surat Al-Buruj and they did a great job! Read and memorize the first 4 ayahs of Surat Al-Enshiqaq with Shikh. For those who didn t have the test, please memorize the rest of the ayahs and be prepared for the test. Quranic Arabic (Teacher: Amat) We started the fourth lesson of Qaida Noorania. Explained the short vowels and the sound of each. Islamic Studies (Teacher: Azra) We talked about a rightly guided caliph: Ali Ibn Abi Talib. We talked about his life before joining the Prophet s household and after. Complete the exercises on page 44 and finish reading the second half of chapter 10.

Level I (Girls and Boys) Quran & Arabic (Girls) (Teacher: Hanane) Open discussion about the story of Maryam. Practice lesson 3 of Qaida Noorania: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9whqakumxe&index=3&list=p LB3A76C0E55EE790B&app=desktop Review the tafseer of Surat Maryam from the beginning of the Surah and try to memorize a few ayahs. Think about kid-friendly crafts for the interfaith event on February 3 rd. Kids will range from K to 5 th grade (about 15 total). The event is 1 hour and will include Islam intro, tour, and a craft. Quran & Arabic (Boys) (Teacher: Mohamad Z.) Learned how to read verses 1-5 in Surat Luqman. Learned the meaning of verses 1-5 in Surat Luqman. Learned Arabic letters alif to thaal and how to write them at the beginning, middle and end of a word. Review the first 9 letters of the Arabic alphabet. Review the next 10 letters for next week.

Islamic Studies / Seerah (Boys & Girls) (Teacher: Fadi) We continued Seerah of the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). N/A. Young Muslim Forum / Open Discussion (Boys & Girls) (Teachers: Mohammad H. and Azzeim) As discussed in class, you can contact your state senators and congressmen/congresswomen for any cause or issue that matters to you, your family, community or neighborhood. Matters like Healthcare, Education, Gun Control, Environment, Immigration, Islamophobia, Racism, Foreign policy, War in Yemen, Syria, etc. Please choose one topic and write a letter. You will read your letter out to the class. Sample letters were sent to the Google group for the class.
