Stewardship Series Money affects your heart. Whether you are in plenty or in want, money has a direct connection to your stress level, your anxiety, and the health of your relationships. It is no wonder, then, that Jesus talked about the relationship between our treasure and our hearts. For a three-week period in November, we will look at the many ways that our treasure affects our spiritual and emotional lives. Join us in worship starting November 10, 11 as we begin our new sermon series called Treasure. We will explore Matthew 6 and Jesus teachings on money, giving, worry, and more. At the end of the three weeks, we will have an opportunity to make personal commitments of our offerings to God through our church in the coming year. We will receive commitment cards in the mail, and cards will be available on Sunday mornings. We will bring these commitment cards to worship on or before the weekend of November 24, 25. I hope that you ll join us in the coming weeks as we look at Jesus teaching on how we can avoid freedom from some of the common pitfalls related to money, and how we can give our lives and our treasure to God. Five hearty souls set out from Marquette to help with the camp s fall work bee, fully expecting to have to do outside work they were prepared. Upon arrival at Camp they were assigned to remodel a new house keeping area inside. Not a complaint was heard. The crew: Carl Pace, Ron Wuokko, Karen Wuokko, Linda Trembath and Robin Trembath completed the task and returned home. Camp Luther thanks them for their service. White Elephant Table Redeemer Lutheran Preschool will once again be hosting the White Elephant Table at the Women s Christmas Bazaar this year. Not only do you have the opportunity to shop at the Christmas Bazaar, you also have the opportunity to help the Preschool raise funds through the Christmas Bazaar. No clothing, furniture or computers will be accepted. Please begin bringing your donations on Monday, November 26. All the funds raised through the White Elephant table go directly to Redeemer Lutheran Preschool. 4

SCRIPTURE READINGS Malachi 3:6-12 6 "I the LORD do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. 7 Ever since the time of your forefathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you," says the LORD Almighty. "But you ask, 'How are we to return?' 8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. "But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' "In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse-- the whole nation of you--because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the LORD Almighty. 12 "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land," says the LORD Almighty. 2 Corinthians 9:6-11 6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever." 10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. Matthew 6:19-21, 33 19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 8
