He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On Veterans Day, November 11, during the 8 am and 10 am services, Bethesda will have a secure box in the rear of the church to collect donated gift cards (pre-paid Visa cards, Target/ Walmart cards, etc.), which will be delivered to the Veterans and Community Housing Coalition (VCHC) for homeless military veterans to purchase Christmas presents for their families. On December 2 at 3 pm, during the Advent Lessons and Carols service, Bethesda will again collect donated gift cards and the following other items for Wellspring and Transitional Services Association (TSA) for distribution to local homeless families for the Christmas holiday: Gift certificates for local activities and restaurants, art supplies, CDs/DVDs, music players/ headphones, winter hats, gloves, scarves for adults and children, sweatshirts and sweatpants, 10
