Thank you for taking the time to read the first edition of The Refreshing Times in 2013. I pray that this new year has been nothing put peace, love, and the favor of God. As I sat back and reflected on this new year, I asked the Lord what was in store for His people. He didn t reveal anything deep and spooky to me. All He said was no more excuses. This year, 2013, must be a year Have you been called to the Prophetic? Are you a Prayer Warrior or Intercessor? If so, meet us for "The Glory Realm!" We must begin to speak and proclaim boldly what thus saith the Lord. When excuses are used, this is a shield that many use to justify their lack of growth and maturity in the walk with Christ. There can be no more churching on Sunday, and then sinning on Monday. Lose the excuses. Allow God to develop you. Allow His light to shine in you. You have to learn to worship God in every situation! The scripture says, But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. True worship is the key in this hour!! V O L U M E 2, I S S U E 1 Spiritual Backlash Apostle Michael Bacon, Glory Tabernacle Does it feel like the more you serve God the more you are attacked? I know in my own life that when I go through seasons of pressing into God that there are more obstacles, attacks and problems than when I was not pressing in. This has been a repeatable cycle in my life. I have also talked to many others that have experienced similar things in their lives as well. One day I am on a spiritual high and the next I am fighting against unexpected attacks and discouragement. Many times it seems like I have stepped into a hornet's nest or something because it seems like all hell breaks loose in my life. It happens so quickly that I am almost unprepared to stand against these attacks. Instead of celebrating what God has been doing in my life, I am left wondering if I have done something wrong or if I will ever get back up again. When I was younger in the Lord I used to get very upset at God because I couldn't understand why I would be so severely attacked for serving Him. I thought if I served God and obeyed Him that my life would get better not worse. It took me many years of attacks to finally realize the strategy of the enemy. His goal is to hit you hard after your obedience to God. He doesn't want you to make serving God a pattern in your life. He is also angry because you have done damage to his kingdom and he will retaliate and attack you to either pay you back or to stop you from going on to do more for God. As I got older in the Lord I began to understand that when I press into the Lord and obey Him that the enemy is going to respond in kind with what I have termed "spiritual backlash". Be On Guard The Lord has shown me that when we are obedient to Him and do His will that we must be on guard and ready to fight against spiritual backlash. I sometimes forget after a time of being used by God to pray against backlash. You can actually pray to stop this backlash before it even gets started. If I remember to pray I am usually ready for it when it comes my way. If I forget to pray I often see the attacks soon after my obedience to God. Many of them can be so crippling that they delay my work for the Lord from days, to weeks, to months. The enemy has many tactics but in my life. He uses people, finances, sickness and many other circumstances as weapons against me. Unexpected bills, accusations from others, depression, and other assaults from the enemy seem to come like a flood soon after being used by God. I have seen this first hand when I have come back from mission's trips to Africa, or even when I have had seasons of pressing into God through prayer. I have spent many hours praying and trying to understand why the enemy is allowed to do this to God's people. The Lord tells us that He will take the bad in our lives and turn it to our good. What the Lord has shown me is that the enemy is trying to rob us of our joy, peace, and praise. Now, instead of celebrating what God has done in our lives we begin to redirect our focus to the new attacks in our lives. Now these attacks take up all of our time, energy, and emotions. The attacks quickly consume us and take us to a dark place where we wonder if God is even with us anymore. Never Quit One of the things that I admire about Apostle Paul was that he never quit serving God. No matter what attacks came against him he continued to do what God called him to do. He was beaten time after time and even left for dead but he accomplished all that God had for his life and many people were saved as a result of his ministry. I am a lot like Paul in that I continue to push on through the many attacks in my life. I have had many false accusations made against me, been written off by many, misjudged by others, betrayed by those that I loved most, and faced with difficulty after difficulty in my life. In fact the more that I serve God the more difficult my attacks have become. Maybe you can relate to this as you read this article. I am sure there are many people that feel the same way I have in their lives. The revelation that the Lord has given me is that our life is constant warfare. The minute you put down your weapons to rest the enemy P A G E 2 will pounce on you. Satan looks forward to our seasons of rest because it is then that He knows we will be unprepared for his surprise attacks. We often get lazy in our prayers, time in the Bible, and fasting. When you are on the frontlines being used by the Lord you cannot assume that you can go to sleep and nothing will happen to you. You need to be sleeping with one eye open so to speak. We have to remain alert and ready for his schemes and strategies. After you are used by God increase your prayers and exercise your authority over the enemy. Cover your family, your home, and your ministry with those prayers. I even pray that God will break off the spirits of backlash and retaliation off of my life. Being Obedient You will know that you have matured when you no longer get mad at the spiritual backlash that comes against you. I have come to a place where I expect it to come. When it does not come I am pleasantly surprised. Instead of getting angry when the spiritual attacks come my way I now say, okay God you knew this would happen now I need you to deliver me. If you show the enemy that you will be hurt every time he attacks you he will continue to attack you in that area. When you get to that place where it no longer matters because you belong to God then the enemy has no foothold over you in that area any more. You have to get to the point that you are so obedient to God that you realize that it is no longer you who live but Christ Jesus that lives I in you. Honestly, in the past I lost too much sleep over things I could not control. I can't fight invisible things in my life but I can give them over to God for Him to fight my battles for me. I simply need to exercise my authority and let God to the rest. Once you realize this revelation you will have more peace and more victory in your life. It is not that you don't care anymore; it is that you realize that only God can help you in these seasons. Spiritual backlash is the enemy's way of slowing you down. He is teaching you that when you obey God you will pay. Now you have to teach Satan that no weapon against you shall prosper. Teach him that your joy is not dependent on your circumstances. Greater than that, teach him that you will serve God no matter what.

The date of the banquet will be Saturday, May 11th. We are in the process of accepting nominations for this prestigious honor. The purpose of this banquet is to empower the Women of God, who have worked and toiled for the Body of Christ, whether it be through preaching, teaching, dancing, writing, singing, etc. Many times, the Women of God are so busy looking after the affairs of others that they don t take the time to refill or have anyone pour back into them. If you know of any woman deserving this honor, please send their contact information to healingwatersinfo@minister.com. The Word must touch who we are, and transform our very core; this gives us the knowledge that leads and transforms. Inside Story Headline We cannot be an effective Christian, or lead others, if we do not know the way; to know the way, we must have the knowledge. The knowledge comes from experience, and experience comes from discipleship. The Will of God is for us to study His Word; this will change our behaviors and our lives, so that others will want to be like us, because we are like Him. Leadership Wisdom Apostle Alisha Henderson, A Higher Calling Healing & Deliverance Kingdom Ministries On Facebook or Twitter, you are an Apostle or Prophet, but at your church, you are not. Go sit down and get delivered! God doesn t have secret Apostles and Prophets. If you are on the internet professing to be someone great, with these giftings that your leader has no idea about, go sit down and get delivered! The Bible says know them that labor among you. Something is wrong if you have a different identity when you are away from your leader. Leaders are appointed by God to cover and develop you. So, if you are operating differently than what you are showing your leader, then you are operating illegally. Know when the spirit of Lucifer is using you. If you cannot follow or help anyone without comparing yourself to the leader, and criticizing how they do things, and how you would do it better, you are in for a rude awakening when you become a leader. Remember, you reap what you sow! You cannot lead until you learn to submit and follow another leader. God looks at your heart and whether you can help someone else with their vision, before He will bring your vision to pass. A House divided against itself cannot stand. So, if you know you are not in agreement with the vision of the church you attend, why not do everyone a favor and leave instead of sitting in the church complaining, planting bad seeds, and secretly coming against the Pastor!!
