Loyd Lighthouse The Newsletter of Loyd Presbyterian Church September 19, 2018 Buildings and Grounds Updates Community Building: In preparation for painting the building, Neal is finishing up the demo of the rotted porch and will be working on the siding that needs replacing. He should be finished by the end of the month so that painting can begin soon. Pete Gordon Memorial Playground: The bank on the Pyne Road side of the playground has been graded and grass planted under the straw cover. This completes the playground! New projects: The last of the light fixtures in Edwards Hall will be converted to LED lights and the church parking lot in the front of the building will be resurfaced. Please continue to remember the Building Repair Fund so that these and many other needed projects can be completed.

From Your Pastor I can't believe how quickly this year has gone. We have a couple of more Sundays in September, October will be Stewardship month, and before you know it, we will be immersed in Thanksgiving, Advent, and then Christmas! 2018 has been a tremendous year so far for Loyd. We have replaced the windows in Darden Hall, and we have a new playground. We also hope to do a few more upgrades/improvements around the church before the end of the year, so be on the lookout for those. I want to thank all of you who have signed up to help teach or serve on a committee or help with projects around the church. We have such a wonderful church, and it is because of your love and dedication to this place. So, please know how appreciative I am of your commitment to this place. Grace and Peace, RIX SAVE THE DATE!! HERO S OF THE BIBLE YOUTH CLUB BEGINS WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3 AT 5:30 PM IN DARDEN HALL-PIZZA!! 2
