In this workshop, we will answer: What is our key objec1ve in the ministry of Brigade?

CSB s objec=ve is CSB s Mission Statement: To Build Godly Men of Today and Tomorrow. What are yours?

Passing the torch means Phrase Defini=on: To relinquish responsibili0es, a tradi0on, knowledge, or prac0ce to another,,

Passing the torch means

Passing the torch means I don t need a successor, only willing hands to accept the torch for a new genera=on. Billy Graham

Passing the torch means You then my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 2 Tim. 2:1-2 What is your plan for passing the torch?

CSB s has excellent discipleship tools For teens: BaValion- Adventure & Leadership Trails For juniors: Stockade- Builder & Sen=nel Trails For dads/sons: Tree Climbers- Odyssey & Discovery For young dads/sons: Tadpoles- 2 yrs of material For small churches: Treks- 3 yrs of ac=on

Mo=va=ng boys to do achievement takes Building rela1onships Boys wan1ng to be like Jesus Making a long- term investment

In Brigade s 10 BASICS (the irreducible minimum of what Brigade is), #8 is Achievement for Growth. Doing achievement is not primarily about boys learning good things and trying earn badges. Achievement by itself won t make boys Christians. Leaders do not just hand a boy a book and say, Go do it! Awards & prizes should never be the key motivating factor.

Achievement is About Rela=onship For boys and young men in CSB, achievement becomes a plan of personal growth--physically, mentally, socially, & spiritually. Each guy has a godly mentor encouraging his success. They work at a mutually suitable pace.! As they meet regularly, they ll build a genuine! Christ-centered relationship.!

Achievement is All Guy Stuff Boys love a challenge! Boys learn best when they are ac=ve. Boys like to figure it out. Boys are willing to do things with men who care. Boys need relevance. And boys demand ownership. This is how achievement is.

Achievement is a Discipleship Tool Achievement is a tool in the hands of a godly man. He is doing what Jesus has called all to do: Go make disciples. Do you agree achievement is a tool for men?

Achievement is a Con=nuous Journey CSB Achievement (Stockade- BaValion) is a teamwork effort of many men of the church guiding a boy into godly manhood. The men in David s life.

From Self- serving to Servant Leader Purposeful ac=vity is integrated into every level of Brigade achievement to encourage the development of servant/ leaders.

From Boyhood to Godly Manhood The new BaValion Achievement is being designed to include a Rite- of- Passage opportunity. The men who have invested in a BaValion young man (his BaValion leaders, parents, and other influen=al men) develop a plan together to welcome him into manhood.

During mentoring, the Lord gives me many opportuni=es to talk with a boy about his salva=on and spiritual growth. A Ranger in New York Leaders have said

Leaders have said Brigade achievement helps me to accomplish what God has called me to do- - namely minister to boys. A Ranger in New Jersey

Achievement is the backbone of Brigade. Joe Coughlin, CSB Founder

Now 78 Years of Serving the Church Soon the 12th edi=on will be ready to con=nue the tradi=on of excellence in CSB as the premier ministry within the church for growing godly men!

FAQs about Achievement Our group has plenty of ac0vi0es and specials. We teach the Bible too. Isn t that enough? Brigade groups definitely should have a variety of ac=vi=es. But is there also good one- on- one =me? Do leaders ohen take a guy aside to speak into his life? How do you measure their spiritual growth?

FAQs Concerning Achievement The kids in our program don t seem to want to do achievement. They re either too busy, too lazy, or have no interest. We are just glad that they come. Isn t that enough? Boys have plenty of things to do that compete for their =me. But integra=ng CSB discipleship in the mee=ng structure is needed, and not difficult. The ajtude of the senior and junior leaders is the real key to this change.

FAQs Concerning Achievement Achievement seems so out- of- date, just like the uniforms and badges. Is there not a bemer way to disciple boys today? What ques=on do you have? Stk. is all new, Btn. comes soon. Recogni=on of achievement progress is important. Users find it to be a flexible tool* geared for male discipleship. It enriches your influence of boys/ young men for Christ. *1) Measuring personal growth *2) One- on- one conversa=ons *3) A group ac=vity guide
