In Brigade s 10 BASICS (the irreducible minimum of what Brigade is), #8 is Achievement for Growth. Doing achievement is not primarily about boys learning good things and trying earn badges. Achievement by itself won t make boys Christians. Leaders do not just hand a boy a book and say, Go do it! Awards & prizes should never be the key motivating factor.
Achievement is About Rela=onship For boys and young men in CSB, achievement becomes a plan of personal growth--physically, mentally, socially, & spiritually. Each guy has a godly mentor encouraging his success. They work at a mutually suitable pace.! As they meet regularly, they ll build a genuine! Christ-centered relationship.!
Achievement is All Guy Stuff Boys love a challenge! Boys learn best when they are ac=ve. Boys like to figure it out. Boys are willing to do things with men who care. Boys need relevance. And boys demand ownership. This is how achievement is.

From Self- serving to Servant Leader Purposeful ac=vity is integrated into every level of Brigade achievement to encourage the development of servant/ leaders.
From Boyhood to Godly Manhood The new BaValion Achievement is being designed to include a Rite- of- Passage opportunity. The men who have invested in a BaValion young man (his BaValion leaders, parents, and other influen=al men) develop a plan together to welcome him into manhood.

But is there also good one- on- one =me? Do leaders ohen take a guy aside to speak into his life? How do you measure their spiritual growth?
FAQs Concerning Achievement The kids in our program don t seem to want to do achievement. They re either too busy, too lazy, or have no interest. We are just glad that they come. Isn t that enough? Boys have plenty of things to do that compete for their =me. But integra=ng CSB discipleship in the mee=ng structure is needed, and not difficult. The ajtude of the senior and junior leaders is the real key to this change.
