The first phase of the Honor Garden is completed. A huge THANK YOU goes out to W\Scott Budwitcz and his wife Anne Marie who donated their time and the materials to complete this first Phase. If you haven t seen it yet, stop by and take some time to reminisce, I m sure there are some names there that you will recognize. Would you like to have your name there? Contact the Worshipful Master and we will get an order placed to add your name to the garden. Small Blocks for all Master Masons will cost $60.00 and the Large Blocks for Past Masters will cost $80.00 for the next phase. Don t delay! A garden isn t really a garden unless it grows.
FROM THE EAST Well, the 50 th Anniversary of our Lodge is behind us and I need to take some time to extend an enormous THANK YOU to all that helped in getting the Lodge ready, and for the other preparations for the ceremonies. If you weren t at the celebration you missed a truly memorable event. If you were at the event, you got to witness a fantastic ceremony and you got to see the results of all of the hard work of the Brothers and Sisters that helped make this as nice as it was. Some time over the next week or two we will be putting up a photo collage of pictures taken at the ceremony. Be sure to come to the Lodge and look at the photos. We should be having a EA catechism return given at the first Meeting on May 2 nd. I will be attending a meeting to review the proposed Grand Lodge Legislation changes on May 3 rd. We will review those proposed changes and take a Lodge vote on how the delegates should vote at our meeting on the 16 th. Please come to the meetings so your voice can be heard. We will also be having a Quarter Auction on May 6 th which is intended to raise money for our Lodge and the Phil Fessenden Memorial Track Chair Fund. They tell me this will be a fun time to be had by all, so come to the Lodge, get some great deals from the vendors and have some fun while helping us raise some money for the chair fund. Each One - Reach One Many of you know a Brother that doesn t come to Lodge anymore, a neighbor that hasn t been to our Lodge, or someone that maybe has expressed an interest in becoming a mason. Reach out! Bring them to Lodge. Let s all focus on Fellowship and Brotherly Love, for they are the cement that binds us and makes us who we are. Alone we are a single drop, together we can be a tidal wave Fraternally Yours, Worshipful Master, Dan Van Alstine From the West My brothers, May is here and with that, our 50th anniversary is over. I feel that it will be a good event for the Lodge. We also will have this month, our first Quarter Auction for a fund raiser, so come out and support your lodge on May 6th at 3 PM. We also will have a Fellow craft degree Monday 15 May at 7 PM. I have been a member of 360 for 6 years. In those 6 years I have seen quite a few brothers stop attending meetings or events, so outside of cable tow issues, I would like to know what I or the Lodge (your Lodge) can do to get you back in the lodge. Please send me an e-mail or a anonymous letter so we can make the Lodge better. Thank you my brothers.. Fraternally W\ Denis Doome, Senior Warden FROM THE SOUTH Thank you so much to all of the brothers and ladies who helped with the preparations for our lodge's 50th anniversary! Chaplain s Corner It is important to remember that Masonry is not a religion, but it is highly religious. Meetings are opened and closed with prayer. The Book of Faith is open on the altar. It urges members to support church activities and attend services. It establishes no preference for any religious group. All Masons have the right of individual freedom in the expression of religious thoughts. Again, we are neither a religion nor a substitute for religion. W\ Harry Shaffer Jr., 33 Chaplain Masonic Education Year 51 begins in Englewood Masonic Lodge No.360. It is a good time to rededicate ourselves to the ideals and mission started by W.C. Allen Pattison and 75 chartered members back in 1967. We need to build our membership, especially with young men. We need to be an educated and informed lodge. This lodge should have a purpose and theme, and always strive for the goal of creating better men. It is important that we support each other and meet the needs of charity. Englewood Masonic Lodge can be a very special Masonic body. Let s start now. W\ Harry Shaffer Jr., 33 Lodge Mentor / Education Officer MYAKKA SCOTTISH RITE CLUB The next meeting and dinner will be held on Friday, May 26 th.
