SERMON NOTES 6

PRAYERS THE WORLD INDONESIA Pray for all those affected by the recent Tsunami that hit Java and Sumatra and resulted in at least 450 deaths, with scores of people still missing. It seems this disaster was caused by landslides on the steep slope of erupting Anak Krakatau volcano. Pray that there will be good monitoring in place to warn people of further danger. May God bring comfort to all those who grieve the loss of loved ones and may the rescue workers be skillful as they search for those trapped in the rubble of destroyed buildings. MISSIONS MISSION TO SEAFARERS (MTS) Pray for Chaplain Toh Soon Kok and those who work alongside him at the MTS Drop-In Centre at Jurong Port. May they be caring and wise as they attend to the spiritual and practical needs of the seafarers, regardless of nationality or faith. SINGAPORE DIOCESE Give thanks for all the recent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services both in Singapore and in our Deaneries. May all those who attended remember what they heard from God s Word and respond in faith. SINGAPORE Praise God for the peace, unity and religious freedom we enjoy as a nation. May we make the most of this as we witness for Christ, while showing respect for all people who call Singapore home. ST GEORGE S CHURCH FAMILY Give thanks for all the visitors who were part of our Church family for our various Christmas Services. Praise God for the music, Bible readings, sermons and video items. May God do his good work of change in people s lives, for the glory of Jesus. Pray for good preparation for lots of upcoming events in 2019 including a Band of Brothers get together on January 25 th and International Fellowship on Saturday January 26 th. May we all make being together a priority. May those away and on holidays be refreshed; physically, emotionally and spiritually and so return with renewed energy to serve the Lord. Pray for God s care, peace and healing for those in our Church family suffering from serious illnesses including Jenna Howe, Janet Tan, Kah Seng and Liza Lacno. Give thanks for an encouraging report Peter Stead received from his oncologist recently. The response of Peter to his treatment has been remarkable with even his Doctor being pleasantly surprised. Praise God. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7: 8 7
