I pray these lines find all doing well. All is slow going here at the parish but realizing August is fast approaching I pray all have had the down time they need. Today s Gospel tells of Jesus sending off the disciples 2 by 2 and sending them out to work in God s name, to bring love and healing to the world. He still sends us out today by twos, they are generally referred to as a couple, man and wife.. Yes, you and your spouse are a team, sent out by God to continue to carry out His work. Your primary mission however does not involve a journey but in fact happens in your home. Your primary responsibility is to teach your children the faith and to help hem fall in love with the faith. (Your kids faith right now gives you a great snap-shot of what your faith was when they were in primary school when faith gets developed or not). Once you became parents one of your primary jobs is to pass on the faith. Monetary things, food, shelter are all important it s true BUT what good is any of that if you don t prepare them for eternity. If they don t have faith then they are lost in a very terrifying way. You who are young parents, I pray you realize the priority of faith. Unfortunately we take religion much more seriously when we grow older (and wiser). But, when we are older and the kids are grown we miss the window of teaching. One of God s major questions to you will be did you teach your kids about Me? With God, life is so much easier, much less pressure, there is knowledge about being loved unconditionally. Each of us is given a mission. I pray our priorities are in check. God first, all else to follow close behind! God Bless you! Love, Fr. Mike SCRIP SCRIP NEWS! School begins again on August 13th. Mrs. Lorraine Parsons GOOD SAMARITAN PROJECT was a great success again this year. First, I would like to thank Fr. Mike and Deacon Mark for celebrating one of the daily masses. St James had a good representation as a group and I am very proud of our young people here. They worked so hard helping the local community here in Pasco area (Sunshine Christian Home in Holiday, Angelus in Hudson, and Volunteer Way in Port Richey). They also experienced a lot of praise and worship songs led by an excellent musician Jeremy and a wonderful and inspiring speaker, Maggie Craig. There were a lot of fun activities and programs and our youth were able to meet other teens from different parishes. Thank you to all our youth : Xavier, Jahra, Ivan, Vanessa, Victoria, Meghan, Zelinda, Dominik, Sabrina, Vivian, Vincent and our chaperone, Zach Merto. Thank you to all of you who prayed for us and please continue to pray for our youth. To all who had been a part of helping us to raise money this past year, without your generous support we would not be able to send these 11 youth to this wonderful mission. Again, thank you all so much. (more pictures next page of fun and service)
