THE NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 19, 015 Issue 40 Two-week newsletter next issue will be on Dec. 3 UPDATE FROM THE TRANSITION TEAM We are currently in the process of evaluating potential candidates for an Interim Pastor. We have several resources, including a professional firm that specializes in Interim Pastor placements. During the coming weeks, qualified guest preachers will fill the pulpit. Currently we will have Tim Hanley on November preaching on Genesis 3:14-4, Cosmic and Earthly Judgment, and Mark Gende on November 9 preaching on I Thessalonians 5:18, Everything You Need to Be Thankful. We will keep you up to date as often as possible as we progress through this very important transition in the life of our church. Please continue to lift our church up in prayer. Thank you. Transition Team: Ford Bowers, Gary Butler, Jimmy Knowles, Don Montgomery, and Homer Sargent IMPORTANT CONGREGATIONAL MEETING OFFICER ELECTIONS SUNDAY, DEC. 6 An important Congregational Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 6, during both worship services to elect church officers. WE CARE ITEMS FOR NOVEMBER Vienna Sausages, Dry Beans, Tuna, Canned Fruit, Spaghetti Noodles, Canned Potatoes/ Yams, Salmon, Greens/Collards, Jelly/Jam, Paper Products, Personal Hygiene Items, Laundry & Dish Detergent, and Cleaning Supplies MAC & CHEESE PLEASE. THANKSGIVING MEAL AT THE HUB Once again on Thanksgiving Day, Chapin Pres will do their part to provide and deliver meals to those in need in our community as a community effort with our fellow churches in the Chapin area. Over 400 meals will be delivered. We will continue to provide the 15-17 macaroni and cheese dishes baked in large rectangular serving dishes or you can use Stouffers large macaroni and cheese. They need to be delivered hot and ready to the HUB community center by 9:00 AM on Thanksgiving Day. Any and all are welcome to come that day and help serve up meals to be delivered and stay to deliver them. We usually finish by noon if not earlier. Please call Dolly Montgomery ASAP at 345-1957 or 917-6089 to volunteer to help make Thanksgiving special for others. If you know of anyone who needs a meal, please let us know. There were so many who contributed their time and talents and my heart is full of gratitude to each of you. You perform marvelously when needed! The Moveable Feast ladies will dine at J. We continue our study of Abraham s family as we read about Jacob returning home this week and God giving him a new name, in Genesis 3-33. Next Sunday we will begin our journey through the life of Joseph from Genesis 37-41. I hope you will come at 9:15 AM, and bring a friend! The hanging of the greens is this Sunday from 3:00-5:00 PM, and we will put up ornaments made by the children on the tree in the family center. I hope your family can come help us decorate! Our TREASURE SEEKERZ party is planned for this Wednesday, November 18, 6:30 PM at Chapin Christian Gymnastics. FREE for HISKIDZ who know their verses and only $5.00 for anyone who doesn t. This is a fun family night as we celebrate memorizing our verses and everyone is invited! We will have cupcakes, drinks, and fun times jumping together! I love you! See you Sunday!
