Sunday, June 7, 2015 Retirement celebration for Headmaster Bill McIvor! After four years as a teacher and five years as Headmaster, Bill McIvor will be retiring at the close of the school year. Bill was instrumental in many aspects of school life that helped to enhance the educational experience for each boy. We are grateful to Bill for all that he has done for the Choir School and where it is today. Join us as we honor and offer blessings and well wishes to Bill at the 11:00 AM Mass. FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI This Sunday, June 7 th, marks the Feast of Corpus Christi. This feast provides us with a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the gift of the Holy Eucharist in our lives. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches: In the most blessed sacrament of the Eucharist the body and blood, together with the soul and divinity, of our Lord Jesus Christ and, therefore, the whole Christ is truly, really, and substantially contained. " (CCC 1374) To mark this special Feast, there will be a Eucharistic Procession in the church followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at the 11.00 AM Mass. 2015 CATHOLIC APPEAL UPDATE WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL!!! Congratulations! St. Paul s has surpassed its 2015 Catholic Appeal goal of $37,973. We are truly grateful to the 57 parishioners and families that helped us reach our goal. The Catholic Appeal provides critical funding to hundreds of pastoral, charitable, and educational programs that impact tens of thousands throughout our Archdiocese. Thank you for responding to Cardinal Seán s call to witness more clearly the depths of God s love for each one of us through this important effort. PAUL S Beginning on Monday, June 22 nd, the Summer Chapel in the air conditioned DiGiovanni Hall will be open through Labor Day weekend. All weekday Masses (Mon-Fri 8.00 AM and 12.10 PM) as well as the Saturday 9.00 AM and 5.00 PM Vigil and the Sunday 7.30 AM Masses will be celebrated in DiGiovanni Hall. Please Note that Sunday 9.30 and 11.00 AM Masses will continue to be celebrated in the church. SUMMER LECTORS, EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS, SERVERS With the summer months upon us and folks away on vacation we are in need of lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Servers for the various Masses at St. Paul s (especially daily Mass). The device offers parishioners a new means by which to make offertory donations via credit card. All donations made through the kiosk are credited to parishioner accounts. SANCTUARY LAMP The Sanctuary Lamp, which burns for eight days and nights at the tabernacle, symbolizes the presence of Christ and marks the boundaries of holy space in the Church. PARISH OFFERTORY St. Paul s cumulative offertory for July 1, 2014 through May 31, 2015 (46 weeks) was $325,388. The cumulative offertory for July 1, 2013 through May 31, 2014 (46 weeks) was $409,085. The financial report for fiscal year ending June 30, 2014 has been mailed to all parishioners in April. If you have questions about Saint Paul s finances, please ask Father Drea or any of the members of the Finance Committee. The members are, Jim Perrine (chair), Dave Dankens, and Ted Monahan. Their contact information can be obtained from the parish office. CENTERING PRAYER GROUP The Centering prayer group meets on Thursdays from 6:30pm-8:00pm in Room 202. Our meetings start with a short video, audio, or readings from Fr. Keating or the Christian mystics, followed by a period of centering prayer. All are welcome.
