Irshaadul Mulook- Online Class (6) Lesson 5 7 th Rajab 1439 Hijri 25th March 2018 بسم هللا الرحمان الرحيم Inshallah we continue from where we had left off. We had discussed a very brief biography of the translator of this Kitaab, Hadhrat Maulana Aashiq Ilaahi Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh. So we were mentioning Hadhrat Maulana Zakariyya Rahmatullahi Alayh, as he was the one explaining the biography in his own words. The last which we had mentioned, was that he made so much profit that his loan was paid off, and he also had a lot of money left over that Hajj also became Fardh on him. He said that, On the 17th of Rajab 1321, he went for Hajj together with his mother. This was his first Hajj. After completing Hajj, he was unable to go to Madinah Munawwarah due to the political unrest, and problems there. It was during that time, when the Ottoman Empire was losing control over Makkah and Madinah, and basically the Zionist regime of Saudi Arabia was snatching these great areas of Haramain Shareefain away from the hands of the Muslims. That was the reason of the unrest, and because of that it was too dangerous, thus he was unable to go to Madinah Munawwarah. He returned back from Hajj in Muharram of 1323 Hijri and continued with his
business as before. He says In Shawwal Of 1323 he set of on his second Hajj again on behalf of his father this time, (as his father had passed away), and he returned from that Hajj in Rabiul Awwal of 1324 Hijri. After that in 1326 Hijri, he wrote and published Tazkiratur Rasheed, which is a very detailed biography of his first Shaykh - Maulana Rashid Ahmed Gangohi Rahmatullahi Alayh. After that in 1328 Hijri, when Hadhrate Aqdas Maulana Abdur Rahim Raipuri Rahimahullah Alayh, (he was a very great Buzrugh and Wali of Allah, one of our Akaabireen and a very senior Khalifa of Hadhrat Gangohi Rahmatullah Alayh), as well as Hadhrat Aqdas Maulana Khaleel Saharanpuri Rahmatullahi Alayh who we all know, is the Shaykh of Hadhrat Maulana Zakariya Rahmatullah Alayh and was also the sheikh of Hazrat Meert'hi himself, were going for Hajj. So Hadhrat Meert'hi said, 'when I heard that, then I immediately made the intention to go for Hajj as well', in other words, to get the opportunity to accompany them, and in the same journey together with Hajj, 'I also went to Shaam, (the area of Shaam), Syria, Palestine, Jordan, and Egypt. I visited all these places. He says after that in 1333 Hijri, was the time when he wrote and published this particular book which we are doing - Irshaadul Mulook. After that he said, on 22nd Muharram in 1337 Hijri, my first wife passed away leaving behind three boys and two girls. In the same year of 1337 in Rabiul Awwal, I remarried. So basically we are talking about approximately less than two months after his first wife's passing away, he married again. So this is also something to note. If someone were to do that today, we know what would happen! If someone s wife were to pass away and they were to marry in less than two months after her death then there would be an outcry amongst the people, there would be a big fuss and a big deal made with regards to that person and people would start saying that, 'he was just waiting for his wife to die, just so
he could remarry. He was in so much of a hurry!' Such comments would be passed. Halake there is absolutely nothing wrong in that, if someone were to get married after his first wife's demise, it does not mean that he was just waiting for his first wife to pass away, and that is why he has re- married... These are just from amongst those things which are a taboo in our society. Today, it is considered to be wrong in our society, but as far as Shariat is concerned, there is nothing wrong in that. He said on the twenty first (21st) of Shawwal in 1341 Hijri, he went out on his fourth Hajj together with his second wife, and he returned in Rabiul Awwal of 1342 Hijri. 'And in Dhulqaadah of 1342 Hijri, I went out for my fifth Hajj.' He says, 'after that I went to Egypt and I bought new printing press equipment from there, and I took it to India to help me with my business.' Muhawarah tashreef le jaane ka iraadah kar rahe th, to teen jumaada thaaniyah san tera so chontalees Hijri me teen Hazraat ka Mazahirul Uloom ki sar parasti ke liye intikhaab farmaya He says that, in the year 1334 Hijri, when Hadhrat Saharanpuri Rahmatullahi Alayh was making the intention to move permanently to Madinah Munawwarah, so what he did, as we know that the Madrassah - Mazahir Uloom where Hadhrat Gangohi Rahmatullah Alayh had been, as well as Hadhrat Rahmatullah Alayh. Hazrat Saharanpuri Rahmatullah Alayh was the Ustadh, as well as the supervisor in the Madressa. But now that he was going, he chose three people, three Ulamaa to take care of this responsibility. In other words, to supervise the running of the Madrassah. And who were those three people? The first one was Hadhrat Aqdas Maulana Shah Abdul Qadir Raipuri Rahmatullah Alayh, who was the Khalifa of Hazrat Abdur Rahim Raipuri Rahmatullah Alayh. He was also from amongst our Akaabireen. Secondly was Hazrat Meert hi Rahmatullah Alayh himself. And the third one was Shaykh Rashid Ahmad Meert hi Rahmatullah Alayh. These were the three Buzrugh who were chosen to supervise Mazahirul Uloom. And Hazrat Maulana Zakariya Rahmatullahi Alayh says that, these three Ulamaa continued with this responsibility till the end of their lives, specifically Hazrat Meert hi Rahmatullahi Alayh. اپ ر ن انتہائ مشاغل ےک باوجود بہت یہ زیادہ انھماک اور توجہ ےس اپ ر ن شیخ رحمت ہللا علیہ یک یاد گار سمجھ کر مظاہر یک اییس رس پرس ی ت فرمایی ےک باید اور شاید بار بار ت ر شیف ال ی ن مدرس ری ر ےک اسباق م ری بیھ ت ر شیف رکھ ی ن Apne intihai mashaaghil ke bawajuud bohot hi zyaadah inhimaak aur tawajjuh
se apne Shaykh Rahmatullahi Alayh ki yaad gaar samajh kar Mazahir ki aesi sar parasti farmai, ke bayad aur shayad baar baar tashreef laate, mudarisseen ke asbaaq me bhi tashreef rakhte Despite the fact that he was so busy in different works, with a lot of focus and attention, and taking it as a memory of his Shaykh, he took care of Mazahirul Uloom in such a way that, it is actually quite rare for a person to do so. He would visit often, and sit in the Sabaq - in the classes of different Ustaadh, and also very carefully look at the financial accounts (into the treasury/the amount coming in and out etc.) of the Madrassah, as he was very experienced and inclined in managing them, and ensure everything was in order. At times he came when he was called, and at times he would go on his own accord. Then Hadhrat Maulana Zakariyya Rahmatullahi Alayh says, 'In 1348 Hijri, he went for his 6th Hajj and returned from there in Muharram. Hadhrat Meert'hi himself has written about performing Hajj five times, but the 6th one is something that I remember, it is possible that he may have made Hajj more times.' موالنا انتہای ی زیک انتہای ی مدبر ظریف اور خوش مزاج تھے Maulana intihai zakii, intihai mudabbir, dhareef aur khush mizaaj the Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh was very intelligent, a very great thinker, of a very light hearted and jolly personality and easy to get along with. Lekin munkaraat par bohot zyaadah ghussa aajata لیکن منکرات پر بہت زیادہ غصہ آجاتا But was very particular about ن یه عن المنكر - if he saw any wrong happening, the he would speak out against it openly and also get very angry about it, and that at times would also lead to harshness in his speech for the Sake of Allah. Then Hadhrat says, 'firstly Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh was Ba'iyat to Hadhrat Gangohi Rahmatullahi Alayh, and then after Hadhrat Gangohi Rahmatullahi Alayh passed away, he became Ba'iyat to Hadhrat Saharanpuri
Rahmatullahi Alayh from whom he received Khilaafat. He wrote the biographies of both his Shaykhs- Tazkiratur Rasheed, (of Hadhrat Maulana Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi Rahmatullahi Alayh), and similarly after that, he wrote the biography of his second Shaykh, Hadhrat Saharanpuri Rahmatullahi Alayh (who was also the Shaykh of Hadhrat Maulana Zakariyya Rahmatullahi Alayh) by the title of Tazkiratul Khaleel in which he also mentioned brief accounts of many other of our Akaabireen, and besides that, he also wrote many other Kitaabs as well.' He passed away on the 1st of Ramadhan in 1360 Hijri which corresponds to 25th of August 1941 at 6 am in the morning. It was as if he was waiting for Ramadhan to begin, and his soul could leave in the month of Ramadhan. He was buried at 4pm in the evening, close by to his home in his family Qabrasraan. Then Hadhrat Maulana Zakariya Rahmatullahi Alayh mentions a very ajeeb incident which happened at the time when Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh passed away. Haadtha ke waqt bhi ek ajeeb waaqiah pesh aaya حادثہ ےک وقت بیھ ایک عجیب واقعہ پیش آیا At the time of the calamity of his passing away, a very ajeeb incident happened. ح ر ضت اقدس موالنا عبد القادر صاحب راے پوری نور ہللا مرقدہ ایک سفر ےس سہارنپور واپس ت ر شیف ال ی ن اور اس ناکارہ زکریہ ےس فرمایا کہ ح ر ضت م ریٹیھ یک شدت عاللت یک خ رییں س ر ت جا ریہ ہ ری Hadhrat e Aqdas Maulana AbdulQadir Sahib Raipuri Nawwarallahu Marqadahu ek safar se Saharanpur waapas tashreef laye aur is naakaara Zakariyya se farmaya, ke Hadhrat Meert'hi ki shiddate alaalat ki khabre suni jaa rahi hai He says that, Hadhrat Raipuri Rahmatullahi Alayh had gone out on a journey and had stopped at Saharanpur (where Hadhrat Maulana Zakariyya
Rahmatullahi Alayh was) while returning back to Raipur. So Hadhrat Raipuri Rahmatullahi Alayh had such love for Hadhrat Maulana Zakariyya Rahmatullahi Alayh, that he would always stop there and meet him. He told me that, 'news has reached to him about Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh s sickness becoming very severe, and his condition being quite serious...' خیال یہ ے ہ کہ رایپور جا ر ن ےس پہےل ح ر ضت م ریٹیھ یک عیادت کرتا جاؤں ب ر شط یہ کہ آپ بیھ ساتھ ہو Khyaal ye hai, ke Raipur jaane se pehle, Hadhrat Meert'hi ki iyaadat karta jaaun bashart ye ke aap bhi saath ho 'I think before going to Raipur, I should first go and visit Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh since he is so sick, but on this condition, that we must go together.' Hadhrat Raipuri Rahmatullahi Alayh as I mentioned, had a lot of love for Hadhrat Maulana Zakariyya Rahmatullahi Alayh. Hadhrat Maulana AbdulQadir Raipuri Rahmatullahi Alayh was about 20 years senior to Hadhrat Maulana Zakariyya Rahmatullahi Alayh. م ری ر ن قبول کر لیا اور قرار پایا کہ اتوار ےک دن جاکر دیوبند ح ر ضت اقدس ر مدی نور ہللا مرقدہ یک خدمت م ری قیام کیا جاے Me ne qubool kar liya aur qaraar paya ke itwaar ke din jaa kar Deoband, Hadhrat e Aqdas Madani nawwarallahu marqadahu ki Khidmat me qiyaam kiya jaae 'We decided we will go on Sunday. We will stop at Deoband first and spend the night there in the Khidmat of Hadhrat Madani Rahmatullahi Alayh.' اور پ رییک صبح کو ح ر ضت ر مدی رحمت ہللا علیہ ےس جب م ریٹھ جا ر ن یک اجازت چایہ تو ح ر ضت مدی قدس رسہ ر ن فرمایا آج عقیقہ ے ہ بکرے ابیھ ذبح کراتا ہوں اسکا گوشت کھاکر جاو ر Aur peer ki subah ko Hadhrat Madani Rahmatullahi Alayh se jab Meerat'h jaane ki ijaazat chahi to Hadhrat Madani Quduse Sirrahu ne farmaya, 'aaj aqeeqah hai...bakre abhi zabah karata huun, iska gosht khaa kar jaao...'
ی 'When we went to Hadhrat Madani Rahmatullahi Alayh, on the Monday morning when we asked permission to leave for Meerat'h to visit Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh, so Hadhrat Madani Rahmatullahi Alayh said, 'today is my son's Aqeeqah, I am going to slaughter the goats right now, let them get slaughtered and cooked, at least eat from it first, and then you can leave, do not leave without having the meat...' Now obviously if they had waited for that, it would have become too late. So Hadhrat says, ح ر ضت م ریٹیھ رحمت ہللا علیہ یک کرامت ہو یا ح ر ضت راے پوری رحمت ہللا علیہ یک اجازت ےل کر م ریٹھ روانگ ہوگ ی ت Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh ki karaamat ho, ya Hadhrat Raipuri Rahmatullahi Alayh ki, ijaazat le kar Meerat'h rawaangi ho gayi 'I do not know whose Karamat it was, whether Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh's or Hadhrat Raipuri Rahmatullahi Alayh's, we somehow managed to get Ijaazat from Hadhrat Madani Rahmatullahi Alayh and went on our way to Meerat'h, and when we reached there, we got to know that Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh had passed away at 6am that very morning... The news of his demise had already been conveyed to the different areas of Saharanpur, Deoband etc. by way of telegram.' They probably reached a few hours after Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh had passed away. The Ajeeb thing was that, it was in Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh's Wasiyyat (in his Will), and that Hadhrat Maulana Zakariyya Rahmatullahi Alayh should perform his Janazah Namaz. It was as though they were waiting for him... جنازہ تیار تھا اور مکان ےس متصل مسجد م ری رکھا ہوا تھا اور ظاہرین کا ہجوم ہو رہا تھا Janazah tayar tha, aur makaan se muttasil masjid me rakha huwa tha, aur zaahireen ka hujoom ho raha tha
ی 'They had readied the Janazah, and it was kept in the Masjid next to the house of Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh. There were crowds of people who were coming to see and pay their last respects to Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh.' اس وقت ح ر ضت اقدس موالنا ر مدی رحمت ہللا علیہ ےک تعمیےل ارشاد نہ ہو ر ن یک ندامت بیھ جای ریہ Us waqt Hadhrat e Aqdas Maulana Madani Rahmatullahi Alayh ki ta'meele irshaad na hone ki nadamat bhi jaati rahi 'At that time, we had no regrets of not accepting Hadhrat Madani Rahmatullahi Alayh's invitation of partaking from the Aqeeqah meat, because this had happened, and as it is, Hadhrat Madani Rahmatullahi Alayh had also permitted us to leave.' After that Hadhrat Maulana Zakariyya Rahmatullahi Alayh says, 'Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh wrote many books, which were very easy to understand and were also very beneficial.' Magar afsos ke woh sab nayaab hogaye... مگر افسوس کہ وہ سب نایاب ہوگ ی ن 'What a regret...most of his writings were either misplaced or out of print, and in that way, most of the work that he wrote was not published. This particular book which you are reading, the translation is also his work.' Then he makes Dua, ہللا جل شانہ پڑھ ر ی والوں کو اس ےس متمتع فرماے Allah Jalla Sha'nuhu parhne waalon ko is se mutamatt'i farmae He is making Dua for all of us here, that by reading and studying this Kitaab, we are also directly getting the Duas of Hadhrat Maulana Zakariyya Rahmatullahi Alayh, as he made it specifically for those who read it. اور ح ر ضت م ریٹیھ نور ہللا مرقدہ اور انےک مرشد اعظم ح ر ضت موالنا گنگویہ رحمت ہللا علیہ جنگ
کتاب امداد السلوک کا یہ ترجمہ ے ہ اور اصل رسالہ مکیہ ےک مصنف نور ہللا مرقدہ تینوں ح ر ضات ی ےک ارواےح مقدسہ کو پڑھ ر ی والوں ےک پڑھ ر ی کا ثواب عطا فرمان Aur Hadhrat Meert'hi Nawwarallahu Marqadahu aur unke murshide a'adham Hadhrat Maulana Gangohi Rahmatullahi Alayh jinki kitaab Imdaadus Sulook ka ye tarjumah hai aur asal Risala e Makiyyah ke Musannif Nawwarallahu Marqadahu, teenon Hazraat ke arwaahe muqaddasah ko parhne waalon ke parhne ka thawaab ataa farmae He is also making Dua for the 3 Buzurg who were involved in the writing of this Kitaab. The original one is actually the Musannif (writer) of the Kitaab - Risaala e Makiyyah. Hadhrat Gangohi took from it, and wrote Imdaadus Sulook. Then Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh translated Imdaadus Sulook, and named it Irshaadul Mulook. May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala grant the Thawaab of every person who reads this Kitaab to the souls of these great Awliyaa. Then he says, اور ان ارواح پر ہللا تعایل یک بہت بہت رحمت ری نازل ہو کہ سالک ری ر ےک ل ری اصل کتاب اور اسکا ترجمہ بہت نافع ے ہ Aur in arwaah par Allah Ta'ala ki bohot bohot rehmate naazil ho ke saalikeen ke liye asal Kitaab aur iska tarjumah bohot naf'ii hai May the countless Mercies of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala come down onto the souls of these three authors, because for the Saalikeen (the seekers) this Kitaab is extremely beneficial. So we should also make Dua for all those who are involved in the writing of this Kitaab, because we will get more benefit if we do that. When we make Dua for them, and we send the Thawaab of studying this Kitaab to them, they obviously get to know of it, then the spiritual benefit from
their souls is transferred to ours, and that makes it easier for us to understand and benefit from the Kitaab. Q&A 1) How many children did Hadhrat Meert'hi Rahmatullahi Alayh have, did his second wife have any? I do not know, as no mention has been made here of children that he may have.وہللا اعلم any, had from his second wife, perhaps he did not have We would have to check a more detailed biography to confirm, as this was just a brief outline about his life. 2) What was the name of the Press? The name of the Printing Press was خ ری المطابع Khayrul Matabi'i.
