MIDWEST MISSIONARY BAPTIST YOUTH CONFERENCE 2018 - REGISTRATION PACKET Greetings Pastors, Supervisors and Officers, Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ. The 71 st Annual Session of the Midwest Missionary Baptist Youth Conference will be held November 23-24, 2018 in Deerfield, Illinois at the Hyatt Regency Deerfield, 1750 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield, Illinois, 60015 hosted by Body of Christ M.B. Church. The registration start time for this year s conference is 10am with the opening session starting promptly at 12:00pm on Friday, November 23, 2018. This year s theme for the 71 st Annual Session is, Our Light Shines Brighter in the Dark. Scripture reference Ephesians 5:11, Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them (ESV) We solicit your prayers and continued support of all of our efforts as this year s conference approaches. Please be in prayer for our young people that will be in attendance that the Lord will begin to soften and prepare their hearts to be ready to receive his Word as well as pray for our instructors that will be delivering the Word to our young people. We ask that you please have your completed pre-registration by October 31, 2018, and missionary contribution. The Midwest Missionary Baptist Youth Conference is a vehicle that God continues to use to impact the lives of the youth who attend by challenging them to grow spiritually as well as providing the youth opportunities where they can enhance and sharpen their leadership skills. We are asking all parents, supervisors, choir directors, mentors, pastors, big brothers and sisters to take out time this year to invest your resources in your youth in order to encourage and foster their future spiritual growth in the Lord. 2018 Conference Theme & Classes The theme for the 71st Annual Session of the Midwest Missionary Baptist Youth Conference is: Our Light Shines Brighter in the Dark Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them Ephesians 5:11 ESV Classes Spiritual Darkness Recognizing and combating spiritual attacks in our lives. Social Darkness How to deal with bad family relationships and bad friendships Darkness in our Hearts A workshop that helps us identify the areas of sin in our lives that we need to repent of. How Do We Let Our Light Shine? (General Session) A workshop on how to participate in different areas of ministry so that we are shining our lights and utilizing our gifts (spiritual and talents) to the best of our abilities and to the greatest benefit to the Kingdom of God.

MMBYC 2018 Conference Hotel Reservation Information This year our Youth Conference will be held in Deerfield, Illinois hosted by Body of Christ M.B. Church of the MMBYC. You may make your hotel reservations by contacting the hotel directly. Behavioral Guidelines: Midwest Missionary Baptist Youth Conference Conduct yourself in a manner that will please God, the Conference, your church community, and your family. 1. Display good manners and Christian teachings. 2. Cooperate with security and all chaperones. They have the authority to give instructions and make decisions in the absence of Youth Directors or Pastors. 3. If you feel ill, notify your chaperone immediately or report to the first aid office. Please give them the name of your church/group. 4. Review your itinerary and be aware of your responsibilities. 5. Keep a smile, be patient, be courteous, listen, and cooperate. 6. Arrive on time for all scheduled activities. 7. Participation in all scheduled activities is a must. 8. Eat properly. Do not load up on junk food. 9. Get plenty of rest. You will enjoy the Conference more if well rested. 10. The possession or use of tobacco products, drugs, or alcohol is strictly forbidden. Violation will result in severe disciplinary or police action. 11. Badges must be worn properly at all times. 12. If there are any questions or concerns, please ask your chaperone. Youth Director, or Pastor. 13. Please dress moderately. Blue jeans can be worn on Saturday Only. All dress is not appropriate. If you have to ask if it is OK, IT IS NOT OK. 14. You must ride and stay on the same transportation going and coming. 15. Enjoy the Conference and allow God to use you for His kingdom. Hotel Guidelines: 1. Read the guidelines provided in your room concerning exit in case of emergency. 2. At curfew, which will be at 12:00 Midnight, you must be in your own room. No one is to enter your room after this time except chaperones or Conference Staff. 3. Keep the noise level down. It is important hotel management not call chaperones because of unnecessary noise from your room. 4. When using the elevators, respect the fact that there are other guests staying in the hotel. DO NOT PLAY on elevators. 5. Room phone should be used with discretion and permission. You will pay for outside calls charged to your room prior to your departure. 6. Do not remove towels or other so called souvenirs from you room. You will have to pay for them and may be charged with theft. 7. Do not drop or throw ANYTHING from hotel windows or balconies. 8. You are responsible for damage to public or private property that you cause. 9. Keep your room locked at all times!!! Know who has the key. Safeguard your personal belongings. The hotel safe is available to lock up valuables. (If is suggested you leave those items at home). 10. No Youth are allowed in the room of another person of the opposite sex at any time. 11. No Youth is allowed in the room of someone not with our Conference. 12. Do not wear night clothes or pajamas, scarves/skull caps, or rollers outside of your hotel room. 2018 Conference Choir Uniform Information: This year the conference choir uniform will be: The 2018 MMBYC T-shirt and blue jeans. Supervisors, please make sure your youth bring denim bottoms that do not have large tears, or ripped holes in their jeans. All jeans should be respectable and presentable. Jeans can be frayed, but large open tears or large ripped holes are NOT acceptable. Songs will be presented during rehearsal.
