City of Merritt Invitation to Merritt s Santa Parade on November 26, 2010 M/S Councillor Fiddick / Councillor Durksen That Mayor Anderson be authorized to attend the Merritt Santa Parade on November 26, 2010 if his schedule permits. Communities in Bloom - 2010 National Results Village of Ashcroft receives 5 Blooms M/S Mayor Anderson / Councillor Durksen That the Village of Ashcroft send a letter of congratulations to the local Community in Bloom committee, commending them on achieving 5 Blooms in the National Category and further that a letter be sent to the Public Works crew thanking them for their contributions to the community and Village s ultimate successful score. Policy 1.4 Use of Village Logos and Tag Lines M/S Councillor Williams / Councillor Kormendy That Policy 1.4 be approved and further that the following disclaimer be added to our website on the Legal page: The reproduction and use of the Village of Ashcroft logos and tag lines are permitted, however, the Village makes no warranties, express or implied, as to the fitness of the products or services bearing copies of these logos and/or tag lines. CPR Holiday Train Train Ride Passes for Ashcroft to Lytton M/S Councillor Kormendy / Councillor Fiddick That the Village of Ashcroft provide the CPR Holiday Train Passes, for a one way ride from Ashcroft to Lytton, to the South Cariboo Elizabeth Fry Society for distribution at their discretion. 10.6. Northern Development Initiative Trust Councillor Kormendy Councillor Kormendy advised the next meeting will be held in 100 Mile House on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. 10.7. Gold Country Communities Society Councillor Durksen Councillor Durksen advised Council that the City of Merritt has chosen not to be part of the Gold Country Communities Society Service Area Agreement, however, they wish to contribute an annual fee instead. The bylaw drafted by the TNRD will have the maximum amount reduced from $100,000 to $80,000 to reflect Merritt s withdrawal. 10.8. TNRD Mayor Anderson Mayor Anderson provided Council with an update on the EcoDepot project in Pritchard. 10.9. Tourism Councillor Durksen & Councillor Williams 10.10. School District No. 74 (Gold Trail) Liaison Councillor Durksen Councillor Durksen advised Council that Alison Sidow has resigned as Superintendent of Schools for School District # 74 (Gold Trail) and will be replaced by Theresa Downs. 10.11. Economic Development & Boundary Extension Councillor Kormendy & Councillor Fiddick 10.12. Canada Day Councillor Kormendy & Councillor Williams 10.13. Other Councillor Kormendy advised that a draft budget had been submitted to the Chief Financial Officer and that the event would be similar to the 2010 celebration.
