GLACIER BIBLE COLLEGE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE The ways that the Lord has provided for Glacier Bible College has been (and continues to be) nothing less than a miracle. We wanted to share the story of how one church s road bump ended up be a blessing for us and the construction of GBC. After being around Easthaven for a while, you are almost guaranteed to hear the stories of how 800 volunteers gave their time and vacations to come to Kalispell for the construction of our facility many years ago. Southern Baptists organize building teams all throughout the south to provide substantial physical labor for the construction of churches of all different sizes. This past summer, one team was scheduled to work on a church here in Montana. Unfortunately for them, that project was placed on hold in early 2018, not leaving enough time to reschedule the team already planning to come to Montana. Word came to us that there was a full team of builders ready to start construction in Montana, but did not have anything to build. After some quick thinking, we accelerated our timeline of Glacier Bible College to ensure that we could take full advantage of free labor. What a gift it was to have these teams from the south and local volunteers help with our construction project at the college! We had the land. Funds were being made available. With the crews committed to coming, it was a green light to proceed earlier than anticipated. While we are not 100% finished, both dorms are livable and occupied. Girl s Dorm Original Budget $160,000 Men s Dorm Original Budget $160,000 Projected Original Budget Cost $320,000 Volunteer Labor ($140,000) Each Dorm Cost $90,000 We saved 57%! Volunteer labor was crucial for building Glacier Bible College.
